I wrote N. Leroy Gingrich off in 1998.

The South Carolina surveys show a commanding 14-15 point lead for Gingrich, and Florida is close to a statistical tie between Romney and Gingrich.

Let's see who get's Rubio's endorsement. Whatever you may think of Newt's position on immigration, he knew exactly what he was doing politically.

That said, this is bound to become another "bash Newt and the couch he rode in" on thread.

I don’t have any intent of supporting a typical GOP go along, get alonger.

This is war, and Gingrich is a towel thrower.

If Doug Schoen knew anything he wouldn’t be a democrat,..
The question is; What else does he DON’T know?..

So far, he’s winning my vote. I am still winnable by any but one. Killing babies kind of does it for me.

It’s only 2011, and I’ve already written him off.

“Moreover, Gingrich has recently positioned himself as a Tea Party conservative”

This sentence is laughable. Newt has virtually nothing in common with real conservatism.

It remains a foregone conclusion that Mitt Romney is going to be the Republican Presidential nominee.

Romney would make for a GREAT running mate for 0bama.

"By speaking about the urgency of immigration reform, Gingrich took a position in the debate Tuesday night which can only benefit him going forward"

Is the author serious? I am willing to bet Newts' HQ is in full blown panic mode over Newts' jumping the shark on illegal immigration.

Find it odd that the same Freeper who was pathological in his hate for GW Bush now backs Newt. The same Newt who never opposed Bush's position on anything.

The Freeperinos clearly only approve of 3 candidates:
Michele
Cain
Santorum

Combined, they are at 20% in the early states.

Is there somebody here who is actually doing something for Cain in IA? Or any of the 3 in any early state? They are all dead in NH. So what is the strategy besides boycotting the process and bashing candidates? That alone does not seem to be getting results.

There is an alternative even if going to IA and campaigning for the special threesome isn’t possible.

“Don't Write Newt Gingrich Off In 2012.”

Write off the GOP’s future if he does win.

New immigrant USA citizens vote 80% for the Democratic Party.

Gingrich, McCain, George W., Rick Perry, Huntsman, even Ron Paul.....

Do these guys really not understand basic math?

What the polls show, increasingly, is that Newt Gingrich is solidifying his position as the anti-Romney

He’s also solidifying his position as an anti-conservative.

I wrote Gingrich off for being a party before principle guy. He endorsed the extremely liberal Republican Dede Scozzafava, along with “the log cabin republicans”, while Conservatives were supporting the Conservative party candidate Doug Hoffman who was ahead of Scozzafava in the polls, and he had the support of most Conservatives, and the endorsements of Sarah Palin and Fred Thompson. Dede Scozzafava, who was liberal even for a RINO, ended up dropping out of the race and endorsing the democrat candidate who went on to win a close race. It didn't surprise anyone following the race, except someone like Gingrich who's suppose to be the most intelligent candidate we've ever seen. That happened in the 2009 New York Congressional special election, which wasn't too long ago at all.

Now he's come out with his version of the “compassionate Conservative” by implying there are Conservatives who are taking inhumane stances on illegal immigration by saying he would be humane. We are sick of hearing that kind of crap, because it's the same crap we always hear from career establishment Republicans, and I don't want anything that has to do with the establishment. They are one of the reasons for candidates ignoring illegal immigration, and thinking they will pick up the Hispanic vote when they give these illegals amnesty, which is just ridiculous. They also don't seem to know the difference between legal, and illegal Hispanics.

My best friends grandparents came from Mexico, but he's a Conservative against illegal immigration, and he has nothing in common with illegals because he's an American. He also doesn't like illegal thugs trying to start fights with him because he can't speak Spanish like he's a traitor to his race and Mexico, when they can't even live in that piece of crap, it's so bad.

A horrible Illegal immigration policy is one of the main issues that ruined Perry for good overnight, and got his supporters moving over to Herman Cain. This should destroy Gingrich, and hopefully they go back to Cain, or go to him for the first time if they haven't supported him yet. Herman Cain is something new, and I'm willing to go with that over the same old crap. Cain would at the very least let the liberal media, and the establishment Republicans know they don't have the power to decide our candidates any longer. We choose who we like regardless of them.

I would like to see Rush Limbaugh endorse Herman Cain, and start giving him the coverage he was not long ago. I think Cain's tough stance on illegal immigration, and all the positive things Limbaugh was saying about him were helping him out a lot. Herman Cain is a good position to take advantage of this stupid plan on illegal immigration by Gingrich considering the Gingrich type see candidates like Cain, who are serious about stopping illegal immigration, as the heartless and inhumane Conservatives who's ridiculous words are meant for, and just happen to also fit the average Conservative voter. The problem is those are just offensive words that don't come close in actual meaning when explaining the majority of Conservative views on stopping illegal immigration. He might as well just call anyone who disagrees with him on the issue as racist like liberals do.
