When it comes to the MSM, it's hard to get more mainstream than Jon Meacham. Former Newsweek editor. Current Random House editor. Picked for a Pulitzer Prize.
So when someone of Meacham's genteelly liberal ilk unloads on Barack Obama in such stark terms, it's newsworthy. On today's Morning Joe, Meacham flatly stated his belief that President Obama "doesn't particularly like people and politicians who don't like people are kind of in the wrong business."

It's hard to like stupid people, so it's logical that you won't like people if you think you're smarter than everyone else. He'll either be smarmy or condescending, depending on the circumstances and audience, but won't enter into a conversation with someone else as an equal.
There is no genuine spontaneous social interaction, just calculated resonses and manipulations.
I’d bring Mr. Meacham (and others) back to the Obama’s very first “White House Christmas Card” family photo. It tells us all we need to know. Each of the Obama’s had a hand touching another. Except Barack, who sat with his hands in his lap. He is incapable of showing genuine affection even for his own family. It’s just not in him. He does the ‘man hug’ as established by Clinton ONLY because it is politically expedient.
I haven't figured out what it is; nothing makes sense. Often I wonder if he despises people because he thinks the rest of us are as shallow, hateful, and selfish as he is. Other times I wonder if he went into politics specifically because he hates people and his political office gives him the power to harm far more people than he could hurt as a local community organizer. Or does he like people, just not productive people and especially productive Americans who hold jobs and cling to God and to guns? I don't know if he feels so superior that he thinks he is blessing us by attempting to seize control of every aspect of our lives, or if he feels like an incompetent fraud in over his head and assumes the rest of us are as bad. All I know is that whatever is happening inside his head should frighten every sane person in the world.
It’s sure as hell obvious that he doesn’t like the USA, he’s made that perfectly clear.
Absolutely! Like Obama, a narcissist will put down others to improve his own image...it's everyone else's fault. Obama envies others because he is not self-reliant, another trait of narcissists. They have a sense of entitlement, and confuse hate with fear. Obama believes he is feared by those who disagree with him, including the American people, and foreign countries. Just the opposite is true. To Obama, people are objects, to be used for self-promotion. People like narcissists in the beginning, but soon see through the veneer. Even the democrats are catching on.
Urk. I hate having something in common with the Clown-in-Chief. I don’t like people either.
The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
Matthew 6:22-23
Anyone he feels superior to, he dislikes and views as inferiors,
but I’m sure he REALLY loathes those who DEMONSTRATE intellect superior to his own.
Ever heard a lib/leftist speak about rural people, or even "preppers"? They LOATHE others who are self-reliant. Probably because they know they can't control the self-reliant.

Throw Mo in there too!
He'll give you everything you need-o Even though it's all wee-weed-o He's planned this all along To keep the economy down Until we end the rule of Zer0
“he thinks he is blessing us “
another commonality with historical “intellectuals” - they tried to make others think they were doing THEMSELVES a favor when they financially supported the intellectual.
I smell some DemocRATS setting the table to a Hillary run. It's obvious - even with Obama's billion dollar war chest that he won't likely win re-election. Since this next election is literally for all the marbles - the Supreme Court and our VERY WAY OF LIFE - I wouldn't be surprised if the 'powers that be' had Obama bow out to someone many think is electable - (choke) Hillary.
despises humanity in general but is ever ready to make an exception for "the real people." He feels certain he could love them if only he could find them--or failing that, transform existing false people into his idealized "real" people through social and political programs of his own making...
Rousseau is who she's talking about in that chapter. It's very interesting.
I think he doesn’t love either people or this country, but he loves what he thinks he could make both into, if only everyone would cooperate.
Yep! And self-reliant people aren't prone to being influenced by narcissists. He's have a tough time tearing down rural people individually, so goes after the big banks that supply money to single entrepreneurs. The little people lose out every time, no matter how many times Obama tells them he is looking out for them. He gets them through the back door.
I know at least one person Obama likes...HIMSELF!
“I wouldn’t be surprised if the ‘powers that be’ had Obama bow out to someone many think is electable - (choke) Hillary.”
She’s unelectable. Hillary got stuck in a washing machine’s spin cycle, and it shows.
Haven’t we all sensed how Obama doesn’t like people? Michelle either? They have to overcome that inertia with polling day shenanigans.
The feeling is mutual.
Not so! Barry loves people as long as they’re adoring him.
Good grief, the man’s a narcissist. “People” don’t exist to him. Everything outside of himself are merely objects for him to manipulate for his own pleasure. Like a selfish child, Barry doesn’t like anything that doesn’t do exactly what he wants.
