It is appearing increasingly likely that once out of government, Newt’s influence could be bought by the highest bidder. It explains his seemingly out of character forays into progressive policies like prescription drug coverage, fannie and freddie, and global warming, but it does nothing to reassure conservatives who may be considering him for President. Will he be able to bought in the Oval Office too?

Didn’t read the article, Fred, but wasn’t Gingrich the one who brought the Fed. Dept. of Education into being? And there went the schools! He is definitely a Washington insider no matter what he did. Another self serving career politician cozy with the establishment. No thank you.

So is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ coming back to earth, either to rapture us up or to run as the GOP candidate next year?

If not, we’re assured another four years of the Bamster, thanks to people here trashing each and every one of the candiates in the race.

I wonder why it's a sin to be a lobbyist ? you can always get an exemption and become some obscure Czar for Obama.

Newt lies.
The Sun rises.
Newt lies.
The Sun sets.
It's nice to know there are constants in life you can depend on.

All these DC Hacks know that this country is in a death spiral.

They are looting our country, so when the crap hits the fan, they will be the protected class, with the means to survive, while the rest of us are dumpster diving to survive.

There are very specific legal definitions for “lobbying” — in the “Honest Leadership and Open Government Act”, amongst others. If Newt was not considered a lobbyist, under such legislation, then he was telling the truth. If he were not in compliance of the legislation, he would have been subject to criminal charges. It seems reasonable to conclude that Newt was telling the truth.

For those, who would object that this is hiding behind legalisms, or semantics — consider that a very broad definition of “lobbyist” would encompass everyone, who has ever posted a political comment on FR. Clearly, that would be absurd. There has to be a reasonable definition, and the best available is in the legislation.

I looked to see if you just posted threads attacking candidates you oppose;
or if you ever posted threads advocating someone you support.

I did not see any.

You are doing Herman more harm than good with your tactics.

Take a hint: You are a poopy pants and everyone here knows it.

Thank you for doing the work of the lame stream media for them.

Newt... candidate with “baggage”... 3 wives. Who knows how many girlfriends over the years? Got paid as a consultant for telling Freddie and Fannie they were on the wrong track (too bad his advice was ignored). But, he is a piker... did not use his high office to seduce an intern, did not get impeached for lying (I did not have sex with that woman). Admitted some dumb mistakes (i.e. adv with Pelosi). But, his original “Contract with America” was a big success. We went from a deficit to a surplus! He can win debating Obama and win the Presidential election. I’ll give him a shot for 4 years w/ his “21st Century Contract with America”. He has my vote!

Lets not forget Jennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky, Dolly Kyle Browning, Kathleen Willey, and Juanita Broderick. And what about Hillarys friend Vince Foster? RIP. How quickly liberals forget when they are on the attack.

We may have become, Oscar the Grouch(the muppet)..
