So the taxpayers have to pay.... I sympathize with the mother who lost her son to this punk, but I wonder how a school can be held responsible for such an attack.
And how much does the lawyer get?
One more caveat: the school district is apparently only authorized to approve a payout of $700K. The rest of the settlement has to be approved by the state legislature.
I hope my fellow Florida FReepers will join me in urging our Republican legislators to say NO to using more taxpayer dollars for this nonsense.

If you’re going to get murdered, get murdered in a high school so your relatives can sue the school and cash in.

I don’t blame the mother for suing, but in the end it’s the taxpayers who will pay the bill.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself) The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
