The Ohio victory, the Occupy Wall Street movement, the earlier uprising in Wisconsin and other battles across the nation show, says Trumka, that working families are fighting back against, “the dramatic overreach of many politicians in Ohio and across country. “

Well, enjoy Trumka, working families are fighting back against,“the dramatic overreach of many politicians".

Looking forward to 2012.

As resident of Ohio, I’d say the next thing to do is CONSTUTIONAL AMENDMENT to put it beyond the reach of off-year political sabotage by the union thugs...

“What you can take away from yesterday is that working people, the 99 percent, are standing up to corporate CEO’s to say, “Enough.””

Yeah, cause all those corporate CEO’s approving unsustainable pensions and benefits for State employees are really killing Ohio!

These parasites like Trumka will be scarce when the pink slips begin to rain down on the "workign families" who just voted for layoffs.

Driving down I-77 this morning I passed two large shiny solid black Lincolns with darkened windows, about a mile apart. They each had vanity plates. One said "15 LOCAL" and the other said "17 LOCAL." I figure the vultures are gathering to pick the bones of what's left of the just stirring Ohio recovery before it collapses once more, possibly for good.

The unions’ focus certainly wasn’t on jobs, since there’s going to be enormous lay-offs because of Issue 2 failing. The only job Trumpka worried about was his own, and to heck with the rank and file.

I am sure he’ll be thrilled after getting layed off so his employed brethen could make more. Maybe those not layed off can send him a dollar or 2 every now and then.

OK. Unions got what they wanted. Now start firing their useless "assistant administrator" a$$es en masse. Because there's NO MORE MONEY to pay for their bloated pensions. Someone on FR mentioned that it takes at least 2 million in the bank to generate the funds for a gov't retiree to receive $50k/yr in benefits. And $50,000 is chump change compared with what a CA lifeguard will draw. Where does the 2 million per pensionee come from? YOU!

Oh, you don't get to retire at full pay at 54? Tough $hit. You're on the hook for the next 30 years to pay for Sally paper-pusher to spend time with her grandbabies.

the stunning victory for working families that sent Issue 2 down to a 61 percent to 39 percent defeat.

All it says is that 14% of the 53% who pay the taxes haven't wised up yet.

Actually for you, the next step is to keep accout and make very public all the Union employees who will here on out lose her jobs and/or all the Taxes that will here on out go out of business.

The people of Ohio have been fooled by the union into surrendering their right to choose how much they are willing to pay for any given service.

Let them now be enlighten by the consequence of their misjudgement. Let the firings or tax hikes start.

Don’t focus too sharply on all those “jobs” because they’re going to be gone. Ohio - you had two contrasting Midwestern examples, Wisconsin and Illinois. You chose Illinois. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Precisely and that is where Republicans of Ohio must now go to make very public every last tax hike and union layoff that must necessarily result. Explain that the money does not exist so unless the people want to caught up more to pay theses over-payed State workers many of the best of them WILL lose their job.

Elections have consequences and the 30 million dollar bid by the unions will lead to a lot of unionized employees ending up with nothing at all, simply because we have not what their union demands of us.

Then I guess Ohio will go broke.

By the way the U.S Debt is now $14,982,443,553,379.44,should hit 15 trillion pretty quick.

I’d love to know how much the thugs spent in Ohio. I got a big, glossy card just about every day in the mail. Some days two. “If you don’t vote NO on 2, I won’t be able to teach your kids.” “If you don’t vote NO on 2, your house might burn down.” That kind of crap.

The yes people sent me 3 cards in a month. Two the day before the election. They were sent from The Legacy Foundation in Iowa. Did anyone in Ohio spend a penny supporting this?

What I wanted to see was ads saying, “You pay for your health care and pension. Government union people don’t. You pay it for them. Don’t you think it it time they started to PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE? Vote YES on 2.”

"from autoworkers to teachers and firefighters to jobless workers—sent a message that will reverberate across the country"

Yes; and the message was that the Union Members who don't have jobs (auto workers with all the closed auto plants in the Cleveland/Lorain area) and the Steelworkers (with the closed steel mills in the Cleveland/Lorain areas) STILL voted for the Unions that priced them out of a job. Likewise, Police, Fire, Teachers, and City/County/State Union parasites/bloodsuckers will soon be looking for work when the layoffs come (and they will come soon), because WE IN OHIO DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO CONTINUE THE GRAVY TRAIN.
