As Belgium becomes the latest European nation to agree to switch off nuclear power, operator Electrabel warned Monday of high costs, environmental fallout and increased dependency on foreign suppliers.

...

A front-page cartoon in the Flemish daily De Standaard on Monday showed four pairs of eyes in the dark with one of the blacked out faces saying, "I think Electrabel is trying to make a message heard."

...

Italy and Switzerland meanwhile have put nuclear power plans on ice, while Germany switched off several reactors in the wake of the Japanese disaster and has since passed legislation to phase out nuclear energy by 2022.

Belgium's seven reactors provide 55 percent of the country's energy needs.

Yes, I'm afraid so. The photo of russias muslim population bowing down on the streeets of Russia is telling...they make claim to the nations lands one after another, and visibly so, yet the world leaders and peoples refuse to see what the muslims fully know...they continue to "conquer" by their numbers...rise and show they have layed claim...and continue the agenda they have had for thousands of years. Stunning silence from world leaders....darkness indeed moves across the lands.

What’s frightening is the world leaders continue to turn their heads away from the obvious.....and so do many of the citizens. It’s as though God has blinded their eyes so they can’t see....has the groundwork for the great deception begun where they will surely not be able to see? It does seem so IMO.

“Can we buy them and have them shipped here?”

Your question stimulates an interesting thought. Have you ever wondered why you can dock a nuclear submarine near a city and just plug it in and run the whole city? The reactor on the nuclear sub, including the room it’s in, is smaller than the average living room. But the nuclear reactor built by power companies to power that city is a huge structure requiring millions of pounds of concrete and steel and costing billions of dollars. I think you’ll find graft and corruption behind the differences. “Oh, Mr. Power Company, you want this approved? Well, you’d better pay off my union labor constituents and my concrete and steel donors. Oh, let’s not forget my lawyer and engineering donors; ah, and lots of studies done by my consulting friends.”

Why should we do that when we have enough energy in the ground to last us for centuries?

All we need is a pro-American government that allows us to develop our own energy industry instead of depending on others.

The Moslems in Russia have historic claims to good chunks of it.

Russia went through some serious expansion in the 1700s through the expedient of moving in on Moslem occupied territory and taking it ~

It's an interesting history. Doesn't mean the Moslems should even be allowed in Moscow, but there they are.

I'm sure this will be handled in due course.

There are some serious differences between the location of the reactor on board a submarine and one sitting out in a field somewhere.

They are fairly obvious ~ one is that the submarine is sitting there in the middle of an enormous cooling pond (as need be). The one in the field isn't.

Just one of the reasons everybody kind of wants them built to resist minor explosions from hydrogen gas buildup, just one of the charms of a light water reactor.

Our “leaders” know exactly what they’re doing.

In order for them to promote their socialist agenda, they’ll first have to get rid of the only ideology that opposes this agenda and that encourages man’s personal freedom — Christianity. Socialism and Christianity are contradictory. Hence, the blind eye towards Islam’s spread into Western society.

And that is exactly what is taking place all over this world.

Having served on nuclear submarines and helped design, test and operate nuclear power plants in the U.S. and overseas for the last 40 years, I have to say that your post is just 'blather'.

Interesting point, but why can’t they be, we have enough lakes and protected sea shore to build plenty of power generators, and if the rods are below waterlevel, in case of power or equipment failure, just open a valve or two and cooling is ensured——not ?

They can probably buy electric energy from neighboring France...who uses nuclear power generation.

Welcome to the New Dark Age.

The United Nations recently reasserted its goal of eliminating 90% of the world's population, from seven billion down to 500 million.

This will do it.
