The latest 007 adventure will star Daniel Craig for the third time. Leading ladies have been confirmed as French actress Berenice Marlohe and Naomie Harris.

Skyfall is being directed by Sam Mendes, who won an Oscar for 1999's American Beauty.

Mendes said the storyline will take the secret agent to London, China, Turkey and Scotland.

Today is the 50th anniversary of Sean Connery being announced as James Bond in ‘Dr No’.

Awesome! I enjoyed the silliness of the Moore years and “could abide” the later Bonds but I think Craig is an absolutely stellar choice. He is the MOST like the black operators I’ve known and is the most convincing “Fleming” Bond I’ve seen. Plus I am pleased they’ve done away with the PPK which frankly is a POS! Flame on. Call me a sentimental fool but it takes a lot to get me to buy a ticket to see a movie and after Casino Royale I am a James Bond fan again!

Craig’s a big time BHO supporter. I don’t support those actors.

I think this is the one where Bond goes up against the evil Chicken Little.

“Quantum of Solace” comes out next month, and Daniel Craig is out promoting that and Barack Obama. He can’t vote in America, but the British Craig has strong feelings anyway.

“I strongly feel there needs to be a new way forward,” Craig tells Playboy magazine in an interview on newsstands today. “Barack Obama is pushing things in the right direction. I’m excited about the election. Unfortunately, things will probably get dirty. I hope Obama can stay above the fray ... I’m hopeful for the first time in a long, long while. It’s one of the most exciting elections in my lifetime.”

Hardly.

He gave one interview where he thought the US (when asked btw) needed ‘a new direction’, aka Obama. I doubt he would be as enthused about Obama now, as most of the UK sees him as a failed and lightweight President.

Craig also said respectful things about McCain and joked he’d be a great ‘M’.

He thinks James Bond should engage in homo sex.

And a man who'd never shot a gun or driven a manual trans? Weird.

Yeah. Actors are generally liberals because they are surrounded by liberals. There are a few notable exceptions, to wit Charlton Heston, Eastwood, Voigt, Norris, Reagan, and Heather Locklear (Yesss!) but I really don’t see why an actor’s politics should spoil my enjoyment of a movie. The guy who sells me meat may be dumber than I am and may be a leftist, but the meat is just fine and his role in my life has nothing to do with politics. If I boycotted everything touched by a liberal I’d never see a movie!

Chicken Little
Civilization as we know it depends on me, and, to a lesser extent... you.
So I've just got one question for you: Are you ready to rock?

Watch it on DVD. I don't worry about an actor's ideological views any more than I worry about those of my accountant, takeout server or grocery store clerk. It's way too much work.

I don’t care for Craig as Bond. To me, the best Bond will always be Sean Connery, of course.

To me, Craig’s bumbling and ineptness doesn’t show the competence, intelligence, cleverness that the Bond character should display (in my opinion).

Pierce Brosnan, I felt, was much closer to the sharp, suave, sex original Bond, and altho he said he was too old to play Bond again, I think he might have played an older, more experienced Bond nearly as well as Connery.

Maybe Craig is closer to the actual character of current spies, sorry, but I want to see someone who can perform amazing feats of cleverness - and have amazing toys and gadgets to do it with.
