WASHINGTON (AP) — Rick Perry on Sunday sought to reassure GOP primary voters concerned about his wobbly presidential debate performances, saying he would draw sharp distinctions with the Democratic incumbent in televised showdowns next year.

"I'm not worried a bit that I'll be able to stand on the stage with Barack Obama and draw a very bright line," Perry said.

Not sure about handling him in a debate, but I would bet he could whip the little whimp’s ass in a fight.

He had better beat the stage he has before asking for the next one.

If you want answers to your questions a sock puppet would beat Obama

Big deal. A box of Raisin Bran could beat Obama in a debate.

With what? A light sabre?

Excuse me Governor, where is all that confidence in regard to the Lincold-Douglas debate in your state on the 5th? Meanwhile, Bashir Assad is warning the west that any action against Syria is going to create an earthquake that will split the world.

Hey Gov...... How about winning the nomination first before putting us at ease you can actually debate.....

Remember you will have to beat both Obama and his lapdogs in the media who put the events on......don’t plan on it being fair either

No you can’t. The media will say that everything you say is racist.

It’s not Obama who constitutes the danger to this country — it’s the people who voted for him and his “advisers” who are.

He doesn’t even want to debate Republicans, lol. Obama and PrompTus 3.0 would tear him up.

What’s Perry going to do, pout Obama into submission?

Sad part is Perry came in high on the pedestal but was ill-prepared. If he had been debate ready and also introduced his economic plan right out of the gate most likely he’s the frontrunner. Never say never but he’s got a steep climb from here on out after tanking so badly.

Perry already heralded that he was afraid
of the GOP debates.
Was gonna hide away from the rest of them.

So which is it?

With drool perhaps? Perry couldn't debate a 2-year-old.

Perry to GOP: I could handle Obama in debate

Then why is he considering dropping out of the GOP debates? He wants to rest up for the real thing?

One way Perry could have been better prepared would have been to not have a record of supporting, defending and advocating for taxpayer funded subsidies for ILLEGAL aliens. But that issue goes back 10 years so he would have to had taken that position then.

“...saying he would draw sharp distinctions with the Democratic incumbent in televised showdowns next year.”

He’s bordering on a psychological meltdown at this point. First he thinks that he can, somehow, out-debate Hillary (or Obama), after chickening out of debating any more Republicans.

...and then he’s thinking that his 6% support will give him that opportunity to debate a Democrat.

(maybe he’s thinking of filing for Kay’s Senate seat...which would then have him, maybe, debating a Democrat next year)
