In releasing his new, comprehensive economic plan, Rick Perry hopes to reboot his campaign and recapture some momentum as we wind through the final two months of the prologue to the primaries. In his second positive ad in a row, Cut Balance and Grow, Perry keeps the focus on himself and on the economy. Hot Air has the exclusive first look at the new spot:

Here's hoping this works. I re-learn formatting these things over and over.
In case it doesn't work, here's the Youtube url: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpib11gryh4&feature=player_embedded#!
Back to HTML school for me. A ping for the rest of you.
GREAT video!
I’ll pass it around.
I am not a Perry fan, but this is a great ad.
It’s the best I’ve seen. Now, to get air time in the early primary states.
Really liked it! He needs to keep em coming.
I watched the original announcement of “Cut, Balance, and Grow”... and this ad is 10,000 times better than the original was.
That’s the best I can say, because I’m trying not to say negative things about candidates. I’m trying to let each candidate make or break their own case on their own.
But I sure do wish some of these lower tier candidates would drop out so the vote isn’t split so much. They are really doing a disservice to America, and to the nominating process. If you can’t get 10% of the vote, you shouldn’t be anywhere near the race. The losers need to drop out. Now.
Decent ad. The problem is that I watched his announcement on CSPAN and he made numerous errors in his speech, some haltingly corrected, some not. Unmemorized, looking down too much. And the crowd, presumably hand-picked, gave merely polite applause, not enthusiastic during, or at the end. It was weird, and lacking energy. I had to fight my desire to turn the channel. This is a big problem w Perry. He is simply a lousy communicator.
I remember past elections, when people were saying, “the only poll that counts is the one on (the election date).”
Right this moment, there are no losers and winners.
As much as I’d like to thin the field by my own choosing, the primary is still the time for Republicans to elect our candidate.
How are his ideas, what is his record? Can he govern? These are the questions we should be asking, not adding to the background susurrus of comments on his speaking style.
I just abhor the thought of some guy/gal who gets only 24% of the vote being “our candidate.”
When the vote is this split, that could happen. And it could be the guy/gal that the other 76% HATE the most. So instead of everyone agreeing on the second best, we might end up with our collective 5th pick.
Neato.
We are at risk of the least informed being led by the media and established “moderates” to selecting our candidate, as they did in 2008.
I’m not sure that there’s VP candidate that can make me vote for Romney, even if I do remember that if more had voted for McCain, we’d be looking at a Sarah Palin race this year.
Nevertheless, there will be favorites and there will be comparisons. I hope we’ll be able to hold the conservatives together after all the nastiness.
Yes. I’m glad to see such a positive, glowing ad.
If he can't communicate his positions effectively, and can't defend those positions or attack Obama's positions effectively in a debate - what good is he? He will be a sure loser.
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.

Both the ad and the plan are fabulous. Perry has a great ad team, they’ve produced some of the best political ads I’ve seen.
I loved being for Sarah Palin but she was not running for President. That was a whole different thing especially since I cannot stand McCain and only voted because of Sarah.
Thank God for Rick Perry!!!!!
I am ecstatic Governor Perry is beginning to get his bigger message out to the public — FINALLY!
His “Cut, Balance and Grow” policies are based on true, fiscally conservative principles, even one of them, and his plans and proposals are embracing and offering an entire platform of fiscally conservative economic reform along with pro-growth action which could offer blessings beyond measure for our country.
To look at the one, singular aspect of flat tax reform contained within the much-broader “Cut, Balance, and Grow” proposal does injustice to the huge game-changing plans Governor Perry offers our country. He addresses every reform aspect available in his plan, and he does so with honor and respect to the conservative principles we know will work for our country.
Add all of these things to Perry’s Energy Production / Energy Independence plan, and our nation could have a future we have forgotten we could have.
I am very thankful we have a man such as Governor Perry available to lead our country during this dark period of our country’s history, and I pray that our nation will be able to see that what Governor Perry has to offer our country now will be a blessing from The Good Lord who provides just the right thing we need at just the right time.
Thank you hoc for posting this article and video of his new ad.
