Gov. Rick Perry told a Florida television station today that he opposes the creation of a Confederate license plate in Texas.

I believe that people in the State of Texas have the right to drive around the state with a license plate that tells us that they advocated a revolt against the United States and the continuation of slavery and are proud of Texas' Declaration of Succession which read:
"in all the non-slave-holding States, in violation of that good faith and comity which should exist between entirely distinct nations, the people have formed themselves into a great sectional party, now strong enough in numbers to control the affairs of each of those States, based upon an unnatural feeling of hostility to these Southern States and their beneficent and patriarchal system of African slavery, proclaiming the debasing doctrine of equality of all men, irrespective of race or color-- a doctrine at war with nature, in opposition to the experience of mankind, and in violation of the plainest revelations of Divine Law. They demand the abolition of negro slavery throughout the confederacy, the recognition of political equality between the white and negro races, and avow their determination to press on their crusade against us, so long as a negro slave remains in these States."
Perry continues to drop in the polls, Thank God!!! Perry is not ready for prime time. I don’t even care for him as my Governor.
My top choice of those running is Ron Paul or Herman Cain.
My dream ticket is Alan Keyes and J.C. Watts. :)
“Next hell say he hates the Gadsden flag.”
But, he does love the Gardasil flag.
I was knee deep in the Confederate battle flag debate here in SC.
To South Carolina conservatives the flag represented a proud heritage because so many of our ancestors fought under it versus Liberal hate groups who claimed it was some symbol of slavery and so DEMANDED it’s removal.
Perry does it again—his own worse enemy is his own big mouth—he just lost South Carolina for good now and ergo the GOP nomination.
Actually, in Texas it stood for the opposite. Just ask Sam Houston what happened when he stood up for Texas soviegnity and refused to take oath to support the Confederacy.
We all know the reason you hate Perry is because he shot a coyote!!
Well, in respect to history, a Mexican license plate would be just as logical as a CSA type of plate. After all, Texas has a choice of 6 flags for display.
Actually, the Civil War was about slavery and we know it was about slavery because the people who succeeded for the Union told us it was about slavery when the drafted the Texas Declaration of Succession.
Perry got my ‘no’ a long time ago, thankyouverymuch.
Put the flag on the darn license plate. Grow some gonads and tell the race baiting pimps to bugger off.
You could produce similar extracts from most of the declarations of secession and still the lost causers would claim it had nothing to do with slavery.
1) First the *N* Rock -
2) In-state tuition rates for Mexican Nationals living in Texas
3) Now the Confederate flag -
I wonder what they’re trying to say?
Leads me to believe Perry may be the only one in this race that’s not a racist.
Tell that to General Hood and over 60,000 Texas soldiers who fought for Dixie.
Rick Perry pander? Never!

No a whole lot in there regarding the right to own other human beings, force them into hard labor and sell off their children to the highest bidder.
“The libs have hijacked the message to say it was a war fighting slavery. Wrong.”
Progressive elites telling the world how to live and making a power grab...not letting a crisis go to waste...history never changes, we just keep going around in circles. The Progressive Elites in the NE used to be Republicans now they’re Demoncrats. They used to block the doorways and turn the dogs on blacks, now they kiss their asses and get 90% of their vote. Anything for power. I wish they’d all drop dead.
Except that's not the case. If one is getting instate tuition in Texas, that means they are domiciled in Texas, and have been paying taxes in Texas. They are not getting anything subsidized by taxpayers. That's not how instate tuition works here in Texas.
