Obama’s collective team faces a daunting task to get their man elected for four more years. Some have discounted Obama’s chances in 2012 since he is such an ineffectual leader. But they forget one thing; Obama is a master campaigner. They forget he won the presidency in 2008 when the only record was a short one in the senate of primarily voting present. So how did he do it and how can he repeat it in 2012?

This is the whole article. When you look at the OWS in this light it all makes sense. The polls claiming 54% approve of OWS, the fake news story about the Vatican approving of OWS, Obama suddenly caring about student loans, anything to gin up “the movement”. The question now becomes what will he do next as the movement has begun to wan.

In 2008 his team created a movement. It was a movement not so much about Obama as it was against George Bush. His team skillfully used the internet and a willing media not to pound his opponents but Bush. Using marketing they ruthlessly collected e-mail addresses and tailored their message based upon the data collected on each subject. If you were against “Bush’s war” your messages would concentrate on Obama’s anti war message and so on. This caused a false sense of belonging to something bigger than a fringe group. That feeling was nurtured with campaign slogans like “Yes We Can”, Change We can believe in”. The result was a sense of Obama is with us, he is listening, and he is hip to the struggle.

The problem was after winning, these groups were cast aside. Campaign promises are only made to win not to govern. The big donors were the ones that reaped the rewards and the lonely activist lamented the fact that they really hoped they would have a say in change.

The problem is the same one faced in 2008 how to elect someone without a record of achievement? If you work for Obama you use the same formula that worked so well before and modify it for the times. Since voters in 2008 were never asked to vote for Obama but against Bush a new anti vote must be established. That is where the Occupy Wall Street gang comes into play. Based upon the success of the Tea Party this movement is a collective of big government supporters. They know deep down that if Obama and the Democrats lose power they lose their grip on the purse strings of the taxpayer.

Obama and his marketing experts know for this to work they need broad support for this manufactured movement. This explains why after a month into this “movement” there is not an approved list of demands. This explains why the protesters are encouraged not to report crimes to the police but to the “security committee”. Why the press ignores the health and safety violations and only reports the sense of community and sharing present at these protests. Why the local governments have ignored the lack of permits for such a large assembly. All of this is coordinated to broaden the appeal of this movement so Obama can ride in and save these marchers from the evil bankers on Wall Street.

The ground work for this was laid before the fist LL Bean tent was pitched. The Dodd Frank Bill, the endless class warfare, investor Warren Buffet lamenting that when he does pay taxes; it’s not enough, and of course Stimulus 2 the Jobs Bill. All aimed at garnering support for an attack against Wall Street. Then the latest crumb thrown to the anti war crowd our abandoning of Iraq.

Still to be announced is Obama’s action on mortgages and student loans. It shows he is hip to the struggle. The beauty of this plan is Obama doesn’t have to meet any of the protester demands just promise to work as hard as he can against the evil republicans who want him to fail.

This is how Obama plans to run his campaign for 2012. Not on his record but against the record of whichever candidate the republicans throw against him. His marketing will be you don’t have to vote for Obama just vote against stopping the changes I want to make for you. Like any good marketing the target never realizes they have been had.
