The thing I don’t understand is this..if I decide to visit New York or Portland..or where ever..and don’t want to pay for a hotel room...and bring my camping gear to camp out on public property (or private)...the powers that be will kick me back to Texas in a heartbeat.

Trust me, there area lot of people not too happy up here with the Mayor of Portland, who has gracefully granted them up to a year to occupy the park.

Then again, winter has yet to hit ;-)

I haven't been down there in a week(busy schedule and an avoidance of communicable diseases has kept me on my side of the river). Your little clip shows how our city government thumbs their nose at the taxpayers. That used to be a nice little park that you could eat your lunch at without fear of getting a disease that will be named after you. And, they are now encouraging the street toughs to join them. Scabies is the least of their problems.

The cowardly mayor just bugged out of town for a 10-day trip to Asia, leaving this mess in the hands of the City Council. He's not running for re-election anyway, so he doesn't really care.

This junior-grade Barney Frank lookalike (only thinner) has been taking his orders directly from the White House by blessing this mess in his already screwed-up city. Too bad - Portland is such a beautiful city, and it's been ruined by decades of stupid liberal policies.

One person from inside I spoke to said over 60% of the people there came just to party.

The few actually sincere will tire of carrying to load for the rest soon enough, if they don’t comedown sick first.
