Bill O'Reilly: Are We the Wall Street Protesters?
Human Events ^ | October 22, 2011 | Bill O'Reilly

Posted on 10/21/2011 11:44:14 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

If you believe a column in Newsweek magazine, most of the Occupy Wall Street protesters are just regular folks, people like you and me. Writer Michael Daly puts forth that the demonstrators simply have had enough of an unfair economic system, and what's wrong with that?

But a survey taken at the protest site in New York City tells quite another story. Pollster Doug Schoen, who once worked for President Clinton, had his staff ask 200 protesters to define themselves.

-- Just 15 percent are unemployed.

-- Most voted for Barack Obama in 2008, but now only 44 percent approve of the job the president is doing.

-- Fifty-two percent have participated in political demonstrations before.

-- Thirty-one percent say they would support violence to advance their agenda.

And what is that agenda? Schoen writes: "The protesters have a distinct ideology and are bound by a deep commitment to radical left-wing policies. ... (The movement) comprises an unrepresentative segment of the electorate that believes in the radical redistribution of wealth..."

In other words, these folks want our stuff.

Throughout history, there have been human beings who did not want to compete in the marketplace. That sentiment drives a hatred of capitalism. The American economic system is a meritocracy. If you work hard and do well in your job, you usually will prosper providing you practice patience. If you don't work hard and smart, you will be out on your keister -- unless a union saves you.

Some believe this survival-of-the-fittest system is unfair because all people are not born with equal aptitude. And that's true. Capitalism is not fair to everyone. But it gives the largest number of folks the best chance to succeed because there are many different routes to prosperity and some disinterested bureaucrat isn't standing around calling the economic shots.

But the Occupy Wall Street protesters want those bureaucrats. They believe governments have a moral obligation to provide a measure of success and education to everyone, no matter the cost. This, of course, is impossible.

I respect dissent, but not stupidity. Do these anti-capitalists ever read a newspaper or a history book? Greece and other European countries are collapsing under entitlement debt, and the entire world is suffering economically because of it.

The Soviet Union fell apart under communism. Cuba is a disaster. Zimbabwe is unspeakable. Every place on Earth that tries to seize private property implodes. Most human beings are built to better themselves, not to throw their talents into a collective kitty usually run by corrupt killers.

Generally speaking, the Occupy Wall Street crew is comprised of bored morons who want handouts. Every American has a legitimate beef about something, but most of us don't want to burn the system down. The protesters do.

Maybe if their brains were occupied with some perspective, we could get somewhere.

They remind me of the type Charlie Manson would recruit into his family.

I agree, I and my family have nothing in common with them. We pay our own way, and work hard to make life better. We don’t look to someone else to take care of us, especially not the government!

They believe governments have a moral obligation

This kind of thinking is the direct result of moving God out of the public conversation. A God fearing people accept their own moral obligations. It is part of the beauty of having faith in God, of seeking God's wisdom in our daily lives, and praying for His mercy & grace. God gives you no way out or excuses for your negligence or your moral obligations.

...”I respect dissent, but not stupidity. Do these anti-capitalists ever read a newspaper or a history book? Greece and other European countries are collapsing under entitlement debt, and the entire world is suffering economically because of it”...

I can tell you that these people do not read history..That takes will power, perseverance and a desire to understand and do what is right..It takes a responsible person to seek wisdom and knowledge..These people seek hedonism in all of it’s manifestations..In the end, I think they want blood. If true anarchy was brought about, you would see that blood, big time..That is the danger we face. This is a very small group in comparison to the millions of Americans who do not think or act this way..However, revolutions are usually begun by a very small group of agitators..The media is our enemy..Most of the major media and the left wing of our government is giving the occupiers a positive spin..How disgusting!

Communists goal number 19.

19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

Not all these people are students but most are paid leftist demonstrators. Although the folks in New York get most of the news coverage these things are happening all over. Look for an increase in black protests to occur also and continue up to the election. That puts in place the potential for unrest and government action if necessary. That action could be martial law and the canceling of the 2012 election.

As always with Marxist agitation, these people are a small minority but with media help they seem to be much larger and more important than they are. They do not represent and under current of American sentiment.

Based on the reports of all the thievery going on, they apparently want each other's stuff, too.

No. They want a society that reflects their self generated “truth” and sense of “justice”. They’re playing God.

Is Ted Baxter back on his meds? He's actually making sense here.

You wouldn't think so if you listened to him last night. My wife is a big fan of Fox News so it is just on all the time and impossible to ignore.

Almost the first words out of his mouth concerning OWS was that the movement has been usurped by the far left. I didn't listen to the rest, that was enough for me.

But for the record, Mr. O'Reilly (I hope your staff is reading this), there is no need for the far left to do any usurping at all since this is their gig and has been right from the get-go. The OccupyWallStreet.org website was registered by Adbusters (Canadian) in June 2011, well before the September "occupation" of Wall Street. This same group has posted their plans and tentative "demands" as their 99 Percent Declaration for anyone to read. This is clearly a far left if not Marxist agenda in most respects.

So forget this "usurping" business. This was planned long before September 2011, has the full support of Soros and his many far left organizations and has no interest in anything except the re-election of Barack Obama and the continuation of our march to a Marxist America.

Yes, O’Reilly, you are one of the confused;

O’Reilly “When President Obama took office, I knew he was an income redistribution guy. In fact, I challenged him on that in our first interview during the 2008 campaign. But once elected I decided to give the president a chance to see if his economic vision, big government management of the economy, could turn things around.”

"In other words, these folks want our stuff."

Quite a lot of stuff based on these "Demands" from out local group.

Occupy PC's Demands:

The following is a partial list of demands to be made by Occupy Panama City pending ratification by the full General Assembly scheduled for Saturday.

Forgive all student loans, underwater mortgages and credit card debt.

End corruption in government.

End the "evil" Federal Reserve.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner "Must" resign.

Better choices for Governor of Florida.

Full implementation of the NESARA (National Economic Security and Reformation Act).

End all Wars.

Repeal the Patriot Act.

End mass surveillance and spying.

End the War on Drugs.

Truth from the mass media.

The right to "express ourselves...without being tasered, beaten, maced and arrested".
