They do that to force pro life people to accept the premise that “conditions” determine the worth of the unborn, thereby rejecting the concept that the baby has rights of its own independent of the mother.
actually, it’s simpler than that.
What do leftists always use to advance their agenda?
VICTIMS!
Rape and incest victims are their shield behind which they advance their abortion on demand agenda.
Wow, the dishonesty is astounding. I heard this clip this morning on talk radio and I was like “Et tu Brute”. But after Cain said thi was rare I knew he wasn’t talking abortion. The long knives are out and they have been dipped in dung.
Lefty Piers Morgan got Cain confused with his stupid leading questions on abortion. Cain has said time and time again he is against any type of abortion and in the case of life of the mother clause, he thinks the family should decide that. His position on abortion has not changed. He is very pro-life.
God bless you.
Very good post. Hope you don’t mind, I used it on another site.
You are totally right. The question was would you want your daughter to raise the child from a rape. His answer was about raising the child not about abortion. The media is trying to spin this and turn conservatives against him because he is a huge threat.
Sorry, I don’t think I was out of context or unfair.
IMO in this case it is an opportunity to see the marketer Herman Cain once again engage in a song and dance—and I’ve learned to perk up my ears and open my eyes when he begins singing and dancing.
Did you read it? He says it's a family's decision to make, and not government's. How is that not "pro choice"?
"No, it comes down to is, its not the governments role or anybody elses role to make that decision. Secondly, if you look at the statistical incidents, youre not talking about that big a number. So what Im saying is, it ultimately gets down to a choice that that family or that mother has to make. Not me as president. Not some politician. Not a bureaucrat. It gets down to that family. And whatever they decide, they decide. I shouldnt try to tell them what decision to make for such a sensitive decision.
No, they dont. I can have an opinion on an issue without it being a directive on the nation. The government shouldnt be trying to tell people everything to do, especially when it comes to a social decision that they need to make.
Sounds like Cain is covering all sides of the abortion issue and is coming out smelling bad. His position is similar to many liberal Democrats who say --- I personally oppose abortion, but I have no right to tell a woman she can't have an abortion.
Thank you for your witness.
Yes I read it, did you? See post #31. The “choice” Cain was referring to is whether or not to RAISE the child not abort it. That is what this thread is all about, you are NOT paying attention.
So would I.
This is why my husband and I dropped out of our local Right ot Life organization, which unfortunately has the backing of our local Archdiocese. They have always, not only supported, but pushed for the rape and incest exceptions.
The rape exception, from everyone I have talked to, is a racist exception. They always couch their comments with, “If my daughter got raped by a black man, I wouldn’t want them to have to have the baby.”
Yeah well the President is not a dictator. So that will not happen.
I can promise you this. Even with a Republican majority no Supreme Court Justice would be approved that took this stand.
Sorry but it’s just not going to happen.
Morgan is a twit that is trying to take votes away from the Cain camp.
Would a Cain Santorum ticket be wonderful or not?
First I’ve heard of any prolife stance from Cain.
Then it must not matter how many times Romney flip flops on abortion. The president can’t do anything about it anyway. This is also the argument Sean Hannity used in his support of Giuliani. After proclaiming himself to be unabashedly pro-life, he would back the pro-abortion Giuliani because the president couldn’t do anything about abortion.
Abortion is an important issue, and there are some things the president can do. There are issues such as stem cell research and the appointment of judges. What about the end of life issues, as in the Terry Schiavo case? How many times did we hear that the government shouldn’t step in to protect her life, that it should be up to the family to decide? If I was running for President, I would do everything in my power and beyond to stop the destruction of life in the womb and in all stages of life.
IBTZ.
Not sure why - but this thread is doomed to be pulled.
