I wonder, does the Supreme Court Police have their own jail cells under the Supreme Court Building or do they turn prisoners over to another agency (DC Police?) for detention?

I didn’t know until we went to DC this year that the Supreme Court has their own police department, and they are responsible for exactly one building.

Of course! Don't you remember climbing on those steps to reach the top? It had to build up higher, with a sweeping stair falling down, in order to accommodate the jail, hidden underneath.
