"The company with over priced, over roasted battery acid."I've been trying for a long time to adequately describe Starbucks coffee and by gosh, I think you've done it.
I call it Irish coffee without the buzz. That is some potent stuff----it always has a whiskey note to my taste.
I have to say that some of their coffees are excellent, but only ground and brewed away from the hands of Starbucks.

Right now I’m wearing a t- shirt with a semblance of the logo but it says, “Fivebucks” “Coffee”...

There was a recent panic on cocoa beans - CHOCOLATE cannot be replaced.
However, chicory is a well known substitute for coffee.

In World War II, acorns were used to make coffee. During the American Civil War coffee was also scarce in the South:

As a long-time cultural heathen I have never understood the whole Starbucks thing. Why would a rational person ever stand in line for 10 minutes in order to pay 5 bucks for a cup of coffee...or perhaps my rudimentary math skills are just sharp enough to have made me prefer the compounding over time of the cash I’d save by just buying a cup of regular coffee at my gas station.

Yeah, well I just saw a show on TV that told me that the world was going to come to and end on the first day of winter, 2012. So 20 years’ worth should be more than enough. :P

If the global temperature went up 10 degrees the growing bands and seasons would simply shift northward or to different altitudes. This is just more ill-considered global warming propaganda. When I was in school in 1965 the scientific theory was that wed be out of oil and in an ice age by (wait for it) 1975.
To: DallasBiff
Wait a minute...
Wouldn’t we actually have to have global warming first, for this to happen?

Why would a rational person ever stand in line for 10 minutes in order to pay 5 bucks for a cup of coffee... I do not think most are rational. Like the emperor's new clothes, many are reluctant to confess Starbucks is not that good. There are some convenience stores, like Wawa, that have great coffee for decent prices.

No, they will be pleased.
Their prey will be much less alert, easier to sneak up on.

The company with over priced, over roasted battery acid.
I've has Starbuck's coffee three times in the last 10 years and I couldn't agree more.
Hell, I liked C-ration coffee better than Starbucks.

saw an apoplytic demise of coffee by the reporters on CBS 11 Dallas around 4:54 CDT, stating that according to Starbucks "scientists" that the coffee bean will be extinct in 20 yearsOk. That would make me murderous.
