Will he be surrendering the nomination before or after he wins it?

YOU are the most hyper-euphoric, hypersensitive and hyperbolic Cain supporter on FRee Republic today. Anyone who opposes Cain in anyway, is a liar. LOL You did the same thing with Sarah Palin for years.

>>>>>>What does anyone really know about Perry ..

LOL There you go again. Perry has been seriously vetted for the last two months right here on FRee Republic. Perry has been given one of the most hardcore and deepest anal exams of any conservative I've seen in my 40+ years in politics. And nothing that has been turned up disqualifies Perry from being the GOP nominee or POTUS!

We know Perry is a fiscal and social conservative with a successful 11 year governing record in Texas. Perry is a Reagan conservative through and through. Both men even had similarly less then ideal records on immigration. That didn't stop Americans from supporting Reagan and it shouldn't stop people from supporting Perry either.

>>>>>Plus the Cain people are like bulldozers, seemingly so lost in worship of their man they are willing to trash anything (like facts) that gets in their way.

Hatred and holding a grudge goes a long way for some folks. Its smash mouth politics. If they tell the truth, call it a lie, again and again and again. Repeat the lie often enough and it may be seen as fact.

Its like the old liberal tactic Rush always talks about.

"Its not the nature of the evidence, its the serious of the charge".

Maybe they assume Romney votes are locked in and not worth going after. Kinda like Ron Paul’s loyal following is pretty locked in. Romney has been running for 6 years, and his support has more or less remained constant.

Perry’s following (and everyone else, for that matter) is potentially up for grabs. They know Perry is a likely dropout candidate, so his followers will be available to lure. Romney isn’t likely to drop out, so his following is much harder to steal. ??

I did like Cain way back before he decided Perry was his primary target and I can prove it if I wanted to go back and grab old posts, which I don’t.

I did a vanity post to show how Herman Cain was right to say, "America needs to learn how to take a joke."

I was reading a book about Ronald Reagan (1980 primary) and his sense of humor and how the MSM treated him -- while at the same time experiencing all the fighting on FR. So I typed up an excerpt and made a comment. You can see it got almost ZERO response.

But I lost my sense of humor when the MSM dealt Cain the race-card and he played it.

It’s really simple.

Right now, Perry’s sitting in second among states, but is being pushed hard by Cain.

Polls show that Herman would defeat Romney straight up while Perry would get destroyed by either Romney or Cain.

So they are defending his position tenaciously in the hopes that Cain doesn’t pass him. This way Slick Willard can win if Perry can take out Cain.

Don’t you see what’s going on?

Challenge who? Oh, that also ran that’s at <10% in the polls.

Oh, I agree, I like Gingrich too and if he clarifies his “global warming” position, I’d consider voting for him because I believe he’d be effective, based on what I’ve seen. However, I’d like to hear more from him on all the issues.

As for the other candidates, I think it’s reasonable for them to want to get their names out there if they seriously believe they have a chance. But I haven’t liked the way they have been lying about Perry and the way they’ve given Romney, the ur-RINO, a completely free pass. It’s very bizarre.

After her shrill stunt today, bashing a guy who’s polling in single digits- again, and not touching Romney, again... I’d say my comments were a tad generous toward her

"Kristol told me just after Perry entered the race, a development that essentially ended [the more radical Michele] Bachmann’s brief ascent. Establishment Republicans may prefer Romney to Perry, but their assumption is that either man can be counted on to steer the party back toward the broad center next fall, effectively disarming the Tea Party mutiny."

That would explain why Bachmann and Cain are going after Perry first. If they can trim the race down to the Tea Party candidate vs. Romney, they stand a good chance of winning. In order to do that, Bachmann/Cain would have to take out Romney first as he is the one who was drawing the Tea Party support. From a strategic standpoint, it makes perfect sense. The question is whether the "primary with the primary" to decide the "not Romney" candidate will end up handing Romney the nomination.

How is he going to do well with Evangelical voters if he doesn’t tell us where he stands on such things as homoxuals, aborton, and how he defines Christian.

"Don't be surprised when voters retreat to their collective comfort zone, turning the primaries into a choice between Mr. Socialized Medicine and the Poor Debater."

If it does come down to that, I will go with the "Poor Debater", but for now Cain is the one most effectively promoting the conservative vision. This early in a primary I go with the one who can most effectively advance the conservative message. As the primary shakes out I worry more about practical question of who is the most conservative candidate with the best chance of winning. It is too early to tell who that person will be.

In what world is it a “nasty dig” to say that you can compete for Christian votes?

“How is he going to do well with Evangelical voters if he doesn’t tell us where he stands on such things as homoxuals, aborton, and how he defines Christian.”

He is 100% Pro-Life and has always been pro life.
He recently got a bill passed in Texas that requires women to get a sonogram and if willing a discussion from doctor before she can get an abortion.

He believes marriage is God ordained and between a man and a woman.

“Rick Perry’s a more overt, less subtle guy than George W. Bush, and he is going to be more overt in his policy statements and his statements about his faith,” said Richard Land, a longtime leader of the Southern Baptist Convention who has spoken with Perry about his faith. “He talks about his faith in terms that evangelicals will find completely identifiable.”

I’m Sorry, I thought you were talking about Perry.

My Bad.

I just realized you were probably asking about Cain.

I was living in Georgia in 2004, when Cain ran for senate. I had forgotten that he got an endorsement from Joe Beasley, the Southern Director of Rainbow/PUSH.

What reminded me was reading the AJC blog about Joe Beasley at Occupy Atlanta.

http://blogs.ajc.com/political-insider-jim-galloway/2011/10/11/an-afternoon-visit-to-a-soggy-occupy-atlanta/?cxntfid=blogs_political_insider_jim_galloway

It doesn’t mention Beasley’s 2004 endorsement, but says that they still go to the same church.
