The protesters, who have camped out in a city park for more than three weeks, will be forced out Friday so that city crews can help clean the area. Just like at home: Mom temporarily kicks the vermin out of the basement so she can clean their mess.

but yesterday they were reporting how clean and respectful these people were, and that all the local businesses loved them and let them use their restrooms, and that there were no drugs..

Would be beneficial to all if they power-washed the park with the protestors still in it.
(Ran into this protest head on last night while walking to the subway. Guess they were storming the Federal Reserve or something.)

"Basic rules intended to keep the park safe, open, clean, and welcoming to all visitors are clearly posted," the statement from Brookfield reads. "These rules includes bans on the erection of tents or other structures, as well as the placement of tarps, sleeping bags, or other coverings on the property. "Unfortunately, many of the individuals currently occupying the grounds are ignoring these basic yet necessary requirements, which interferes with the use of the park by others."
Because all the good little socialists know "the rules" only apply to other people.

The company told police that it had received hundreds of phone calls and emails from locals complaining about "lewdness, groping, drinking and drug use, the lack of safe access to and usage of the Park, ongoing noise at all hours, unsanitary conditions and offensive odors,
*******
The park will be cleaned in stages, beginning Friday morning. Protesters will be allowed to return to their designated areas after cleaning is completeWhereby the lewdness, groping, drinking, drug use, noise and odors will resume....
Notice the protesters can return to their "Designated Areas"???....who designated them? That means they are allowed and are not occupying - since they have been designated, right?

Like I always say: where there’s smoke, there’s muslims, and where there’s filth, there’s liberals.

Test the soil in the park. Condemn the park for raw sewage. Close said park to all. Make these rodents protest and sleep on the asphalt.
How can the city legally allow “assembly” on private property unless the lanlord allows it?

So the park is private property? Why don't the owners just demand the trespassers be evictted, period?
Simply enforcing the no overnight sleeping law would do the trick.

That article yesterday was insane! And then they wonder why we don’t buy their magazines and newspapers.
To: Travis McGee
They are afraid they will look illiberal. Honestly, I believe that is the reason. Same with the idiot Bloomberg.
To: libertarian27
Those of us who know Bloomberg and the current evil city council knew that this was going to happen. The signs were everywhere that this would end in disaster. If Bloomberg tries to steal a 4th term (as he did the 3rd term), he will certainly have to answer for this.

The NYC area is a good flu bug breeding ground. With these low-lifes, I'd be more worried about nastier bugs like hepatitis, dysentery etc.

Brookfield also raised concerns about shipments of materials to the park, which they say are unscreened. Hey, here is a clue. Don't let any shipments go INTO the park, and I'd bet the protesters will be out of there within a couple of days.

I hope Brookfeld is getting the bill for this.
To: Travis McGee
The owners just got a loan guarantee from Obama, to my understanding.
This is the payback.
