It was written by two military experts who each have extensive experience. The report seems long, but one can get the meat of it by reading pages 9-15.

Good - I would love nothing better than for Perry to be a good conservative, and to do well in the primaries.
I know no one will be perfect.
So Perry has a real shot at convincing voters like me. But he has a very long way to go. Will he make it? Time will tell.

Perry will never be Reagan in a debate. His strength is in campaigning and in giving policy speeches like he is just now beginning to do. He also draws lots of money to put his message out through ads. Thankfully, most people don’t watch the debates, and these early ones are good for him to work on his skills. He IS getting better.
Yeah, okay. The trouble is that the kindergarteners do a better job of articulating conservatism than Rick Perry and we don’t have to worry about them lining the pockets of major donors with taxpayer dollars.

No, Ingtar. This is not “new” for Perry. He understand the border problem better than anyone running, and he’s been consistent about it as governor.
I am no Perry supporter, but I am fair. He’s vulnerable in so many areas, but this really isn’t one of them.
Those of us who live in the border states know that illegal immigration is a complicated problem with no easy answers to some issues. However, protecting the border is one of the easiest, and Obama has refused to protect our borders and handtied the states when they try to.
Perry has long been critical about border security. He is right about this, and his message has not changed.
