The Japanese people are being introduced to Conservative GOP front-runner, candidate Herman Cain for the first time in PRIME TIME NATIONAL TV NEWS REPORTS. Great footage! (at URL stream) (hot link below).
FNN (Fuji News Network) is one of the major, widely-viewed national Japanese TV networks. They sent a Japanese male reporter to the Values Voters event in D.C. and filmed Herman Cain's delivery from the perspective of audience reaction.
Here is a short video clip (following the Japanese announcerette's brief lead introduction as to just who this Herman Cain is). Mentioned was that Cain requisitioned an Obama campaign slogan and made a funny dig at Obama's trademark 2008 catch phrase by saying, "YES WE CAIN!" (Note: "Yes We Can" is WIDELY known among the Japanese people, it will be good for them to finally see this American dissent and contrast with "The Messiah"). There is also a good segment clip of Herman Cain telling the current Wall Street Protesters that, if upset about the lack of jobs, then they ought to get their hides down to D.C. to demonstrate in front of the WHITE HOUSE as Obama and his policies are the prime reason for the current economic calamity in the USA.
Bottom line from the Japanese prime time news report is that Mr. Herman Cain is fast becoming an American Political Phenomenon within the GOP nomination race and that the race is now shaken up.
Ping! From the Far East. ;-)
Conservative bloggers, kindly please extend courtesies and cite Free Republic (and “AmericanInTokyo”) if re-presenting this Japanese news rendered into English synopsis, and add the URL link to this original FR thread as well as the FNN clip, giving due credit. Also note, FNN clip thread may be up for 24 hours or less and could change.
As a side note..she’s cute.
Am I the only one who can’t get it to play?
In addition to “Yes we Cain” how about “Cain is Able!”?
Yes we Cain. :)
They picked a good clip from Cain’s address...and the reporter is a cutie pie... :-)
Yep. She’s cute. He is handsome and dynamic. ;-) A double whammy for your Saturday morning.
I should be perfectly fair to the Perry-istas here on this thread and alert them and mention they DID show the Governor at the end of the clip, too. However, it was just for about two seconds in duratiion, and they subtitled it in Japanese that Mr. Perry has now slipped to THIRD PLACE in the race behind Cain, who had shown a massive swell in support recently.
hi AIT! I’m glad you got to see him.
Thanks as always AIT!
Now that Sarah Palin is officially out of the race, an interesting dynamic that has always been there now fully comes to the fore and must be taken seriously: whoever becomes the nominee
WILL NOT WIN WITHOUT THE TEA PARTY VOTE. Cain remains the only one among the top four who could ENSURE large numbers of Tea Party voters: Romney certainly can’t, Perry, if he continues dropping, will only prove his lack of appeal to the Tea Party, and the RINOs too, if Romney holds the level he’s at,or continues rising. Gingrich’s appeal might grow too and I can’t count him out-— most talking heads, per their predictions 1-2 months ago, had him already
dropped out at this point, yet he still hangs on to
respectability. Romney at this point may be thinking “Hmmmmmm....a Romney/Cain ticket doesn’t sound bad” but that may also be what Gingrich and Perry are thinking.
Thank you. It’s good to read what US news is making its way overseas.
How are the Japanese people responding to Cain and the other Republicans vying for the nomination?
