Anderson Cooper's three-week-old daytime talk show "Anderson" is already generating buzz - and this week's show snafu is one for the books.
A teenager who was meant to appear on the show as part of a segment on the teenage mind is reportedly in a coma after taking a spill on a skateboard - while filming himself for the show.
"As part of our routine process, we ask guests for video footage and photos," a rep for the show said in a statement. "[But] we did not provide the family with a camera."
The youngster was reportedly encouraged to "film the crazy stuff you do" on-camera by producers for the segment on wild teens, but a severe head injury and consequent coma prevented him from making his way into New York to speak with Cooper.

Pretty much , the dandy’s fault. His producer pushed the kid to be “bold”. I’d sue the crap out of that fop.
I’m sure the last chapter of “idiotic self destructive dipshit things people do for 15 minutes of ‘fame’” has not been written.

Not an Anderson Cooper fan at all, but he can’t be blamed, in my opinion.
Accidents do happen, and the kid should have known the risks.

It is amazing any of us made it of of teenage-dom.
And, FWIIW, the ida of “teen” as a separate phase of life is a post-20th century, post industrial concept. Prior to very recently, one went from a child to an adult: family, work, responsibility were expected once one went from short pants to long pants.
Of course, today, one can be a “teen” until one is well into one’s 70s or 80s. Why grow up when mama gummit is there to wipe your nose and butt for your entire (pathetic for the accepting) life?
I hope this kid ends up OK and, upon recovery, grows up fast and disavows the stupidity of childhood.

In the old days, the producer would have sent a camera crew to film the action. I wonder how much the kid was distracted trying to film his own stunts?
The family should sue. There is proof that the producer DEMANDED risky behavior be recorded.

The producer wasn’t encouraging the kid to do anything he wasn’t already doing.
But the lib media wants to take all responsibility off the kid, and demand that Anderson Cooper feeeeel reeeeeallly reeeaalllly baddddd about this.

I’m guessing Anderson’s usually distraught when the teen falls into counseling.
Not thinking of Jackass or America’s Funniest. Ironically, the only Jackass that got seriously injured did it in his car. The show I’m thinking of (on MTV?) had a name synonymous with pain. Just can’t remember it.
