Meanwhile, this country needs someone experienced in leading a turnaround (Would anyone here argue with that?) and that’s Herman Cain’s resume in a nutshell...turnaround expert.”

Actually....that’s Romney’s resume as well, in all seriousness (it doesn’t make him a conservative; he’s not...but he has done well in this regard, ie, with STaples and other companies, as well as with the Winter Olympics).

I was also intrigued that you thought Perry was still in this...but I can see that you see him dropping rapidly, which is sort of what I see also.

I’m still not convinced that Cain can actually mount a challenge to Romney; but I hope he can, and he deserves a look, a serious one. Not just a novelty, joke candidate, “stick it to the man” candidate.

But that didn’t stop Cain from an unfair, racist attack.

That is just silly. You sound like a very silly, gullible person. Mr. Cain gave a spontaneous answer to a misleading question from an interviewer who was making a deliberate attempt to cause infighting amongst the Republican candidates. You have been very busy today attacking Mr. Cain; in effect you have responded exactly as the person who intentionally misled Mr. Cain had hoped.

You are not doing any favors for Gov. Perry and you are not changing any opinions here by acting as a pawn for the MSM. Mr. Cain is a Tea Party favorite with a long record of not playing the race card or being considered a racist.

I think you are not acting rationally.

Plus, you choose to insult me. I didn’t insult you.

I considered Cain’s response ill advised at best and racist at worst.

If Cain doesn’t know better than to fall for MSM tricks then he’s not up for the job.

I am not trying to defend Perry here (altho he deserves defending on this stupid accusation) I am pointing out that Cain gave a bad answer.

Mr. Cain may be a tea party favorite but his negatives are just starting to surface.

Good luck supporting him, though, even tho you called me a silly gullible person and I am neither.

I didn't call you a silly gullible person; I said you sounded like one. And you do because... you... along with Mr. Cain have walked into a MSM trap devised to cause infighting amongst our Republican candidates. I have read a lot of your posts today, and it appears to me that the only ones you are helping are those whose true support goes to Obama. If you want to take my observation as an insult then so be it. If you would like me to go back and quote your inflammatory statements in a coming post I will try and do that for you when I get the chance.

I am sure that the two of us agree on far more than we disagree on. I am a long time Sarah Palin devotee. She has not as yet announced, so we are left to choose the candidate that we feel will best represent the ideals we believe in. I do not have a problem with persons who support Gov. Perry. At this point I feel like Mr. Cain's positions are closer to Sarah Palin’s and mine than Gov. Perry's.

Okay, fine point, but I guess it will have to do.

I don’t think I sound like a silly, gullible person and I don’t think I am one, but that’s just my opinion.

That’s like those people who say I’m sorry if my comments offended you but ....

I was trying to show you some “tough love” LOL. I don't consider myself silly or gullible most of the time either but I have been guilty of sending off similar comments over the years. I was even banned for a time after I posted an "insensitive" joke about Michelle Obama. This morning you threw around the term racist as if you were Al Sharpton Jr., and it was over something fairly innocuous. Mr. Cain called Gov. Perry “insensitive” after he was misled by a MSM interviewer.

Herman Cain wasn't really on my radar until after his good performance in the last debate and his showing in the Florida straw poll. One of the things I like about him is that he does not seem to be afraid to speak spontaneously. Now that he appears to have broken into the top tier; I am fairly sure that he will be forced to be much more careful which I think is unfortunate but probably necessary.

But I am sorry to have hurt your feelings.

Hey, no. I know that if one says anything controversial here a little flame throwing is in order.

Did I give the impression that I thought Cain was racist? It was more that I thought he was stupid.

He made a hit in the last debate by holding himself above the fray and not attacking fellow candidates.

He blew it all by responding to a gotcha question from lib media about a gotcha article on Perry.

He should have known better.

But his quick willingness to attack Perry on this flimsy evidence kinda revealed to me that he WILL be a little over ready to side with blacks on any sensitive issue.

That may be understandable but I don’t like it.

Beating that poor old dead horse again, there is and was no evidence that Perry had said or done anything racist or that he had ever used the N-word or painted it on a rock, for Gosh’s sake.

I don’t take back all my rantings on this point because this is a huge issue to me.

It’s like Rush said, anytime one of these candidates seems to get some momentum, they do something stupid.

Well, there is stupid and there is real stupid. And this was real stupid.

We’ll see how he handles it in the days ahead. Perhaps if he says the right things, he could possibly regain my respect, but I doubt it.

“43.3% said neither one would change their vote”

So the majority would.
