A man in the brutal rape of a young girl makes his first court appearance. Alfredo Lopez-Cruz entered the courtroom amid heavy security because of the impact the crime had on the community.
For six long years, Lopez-Cruz was Butler County's most wanted man. Today, wearing a bullet proof vest in addition to handcuffs and leg irons, Lopez-Cruz was led into court by the man who tracked him from Hamilton to Mexico for six long years---Butler County Deputy Paul Newton.
A translator helped explain the court proceedings to Lopez-Cruz who was given a court-appointed attorney. He is charged with the 2005 rape of a nine year old girl--a case that angered neighbors. The house where the crime occurred was burned.
He will meet the same fate in the big house..they will show him no mercy,,even they have standards...

Bullshit...where does this idea come from that perverts will suffer, once behind bars? That is a fallacy. There are no records of reprisals against this type of monster. Not in the 21st century or even in the 20th century that I can recall.
I would love to think once behind bars the bastard would get what’s coming to him...but it just doesn’t happen.

Defrocked pedophile priest John J. Geoghan, whose case helped set the stage for the resignation of Cardinal Bernard F. Law of the Boston archdiocese, died yesterday shortly after reportedly being attacked in the state prison here.
Joseph L. Druce, 37, who was serving a life sentence at the Souza-Baranowski prison, was charged with murder in connection with the former priest’s death, according to District Attorney John J. Conte.
Mr. Geoghan died at UMass Memorial - HealthAlliance Leominster Campus after being strangled at the prison shortly before noon, Mr. Conte said, adding that he will seek a murder indictment.
Mr. Geoghan had been in protective custody as a precautionary measure, but still had some contact with other inmates, said Kelly Nantel, Department of Correction spokeswoman.
In a rape case? Either or both.
