Pro-Life, Pro-Family, Pro-Freedom Herman Cain Wins Florida Straw Poll

"The Founding Fathers got it right. The Founding Fathers got it right because of those fundamental principles: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. They also got it in the right order. That wasn't an accident.

"Their vision meant that you could pursue happiness in America as long as you don't infringe upon the liberties of somebody else. And you can pursue all the liberties that you want as long as you don't infringe upon the life of anybody else. And that starts with the life of the unborn."

"The courts have failed the American people. Congress needs to enact a constitutional amendment to protect the sacred institution of marriage. Liberal-minded judges have opened a floodgate of judicial tyranny that will chip away at the core values of this country until nothing sacred is left!"

[...]

The man who, in the statements above- and on many, many other occasions - has defended the right to life, the primacy of true marriage between one man and one woman, and the core values which are the foundation of the American experiment, won the Florida straw poll on Saturday.

His victory is being billed as a surprise by many in the media and the Republican political establishment. It should not come as a surprise to those who have been watching this 2012 Republican Presidential primary race carefully. People want a pro-life, pro-marriage and pro-freedom candidate. They are not going to simply accept the handpicked Republican establishment candidate-not this time.

Romney is now trading at nearly 50 on Intrade to win the nomination, Cain... 4

Romney thanks you for all your support in destroying all Tea Party competition, and so does Planned Parenthood.

Yah, I’m sure Planned Parenthood and similar are scared to death by the picture of a Romney presidency, to say nothing of all statists who are fighting to impose nationalized healthcare on the American people. Romney is their nightmare!!

Herman Cain is incredibly conservative and he is black .. he would be a tough opponent for Obama. Unfortunately, I do not put my faith in the straw polls. In fact, I ignore them. A whole lot more is going to have to happen before I see Cain winning the nomination. One day a candidate can be at the top and the next thing we know they are trailing like Bachmann and Perry. When you look at how things have been going, it’s far too soon to get excited. I am not convinced that all the candidates who are going to run .. are in the race yet. We’ll have to wait and see.

Unfortunately, while the American people carried on their lives with no concern for what was happening in the country, the courts were stacked. Now Obama has appointed his attorney who fought for the legality of his Obamacare to the SCOTUS! I doubt she will recuse herself from this case decision!

We’ll have to wait and see.

A sure way to get the candidate of those who aren't "waiting and seeing", e.g. Romney, into office. The race is on, sitting on the sidelines doesn't cut it.

Cain has already been destroyed, people have just forgotten it seems.

The only person that hasn’t taken any damage is Romney, and that is by design.

“Cain has already been destroyed, people have just forgotten it seems.

Quite to the contrary, Herman Cain will be the next President of the United States.

Romney can go back wherever he came from.

Then I would strongly encourage you to go to Intrade and place a bet on Cain to win the nomination, Cain is currenly trading at 25 to 1 odds.

A $400 bet would win you $10,000.

All I need to know about Cain is the new consumption tax he’s proposing. That will be on top of an income tax. Yikes!

Is online gambling at Intrade even legal? You wouldn't be trying to get your fellow Freepers in trouble would you? I just placed a substantial bet on Herman Cain only I didn't do it for personal gain. It was campaign contribution and it was as much as I could afford right now. I figured that this is a critical time for his campaign. If I win the country might just be pulled back from the brink. If you win we can expect basically more of the same. We probably wouldn't have Obama if Republicans had stuck to the basics that Reagan layed out.

lol

of course it's legal.

The thing about Intrade is that unlike the stockmarket insider trading is not only legal it is encouraged. That means people that know how much money Cain and or Bachmann have raised can place bets their too. Or people they have talked to about possibly dropping out soon due to low poll numbers or whatever, even they themselves can make bets...

So when you see something like the polls saying one thing, but the bets saying something else... something is going on behind the scenes you are not privy too, someone on the inside has information that you don't have, otherwise the probability would just closely follow the polls.

I actually like his 999 plan, but is has about as much chance of ever being passed as a flat tax, which is zero. The congress dervives most of it’s power from how it implements the tax code, and it will never give that power up.

of course it's legal.

I looked at their website. The concept reminds me of the comedy Rat Race where rich people were betting on all sorts of weird stuff. I don't know anything about gambling. Despite your belief that insider traders have the ability to predict these unpredictable future events... the global warming section convinces me that these probabilities are nearly meaningless. I do hope you have fun.

I looked further into Intrade. You can’t use a US Credit or Debit Card or even PayPal at the site because of “US banking regulations”. To me this seems like it would severely limit participation by US insiders. I doubt seriously whether there are a lot of Cain insiders making bets on his chances.

You did catch my imagination with this Intrade post. However I am not sure that Intrade is actually helping your theoory that Mr. Cain is unelectable. A weeks or so ago you could have bought in at just 3 cents per share, meaning that a $30 bet would have returned $10,000 if he wins the nomination. Or you could have sold your $30 bet this afternoon when the price was up to 50 cents per share for $500. Tonight we are looking at 55 cents per share. The chart is very reveaing. Mr. Cain's Intrade chances are going almost straight up.
