Christie made clear he did not support in-state tuition levels for immigrants who arrived in the country illegally, a position that Rick Perry defended during last week's debate and uttered the line that several Florida straw poll voters recoiled from - that his critics on the issue "don't have a heart." Continue Reading
Asked by a questioner at the Reagan Library, Christie took an unmistakable shot at Perry, saying, "From my perspective, that is not a heartless position. That is a common-sense position."

yet more conservative than Perry on illegals. Ouch.
And some are openly admitting it. Like this public college:
the public two-year college will be one of the first schools in New Jersey to openly acknowledge it is enrolling illegal immigrants and allowing them to pay the same tuition rate as other county residents.I haven't seen Chris Cristie take any action to stop this public NJ college from allowing illegals to pay in-state tuition. But he sure talks pretty.

Guess he has re=assessed his views in light of a need to be taken seriously as a contender.
Too bad he hasn’t re-assessed his views on the Seond Amendment or the appointment of Sohail Mohammad to a State Superior Court Judgeship, or his view on the Mosque at Ground Zero in New York being a “local issue” or his views on the Second Amendment, or his views on firing a government employee for burning a Koran ON HIS OWN TIME to protest the Mosque at Ground Zero.
Chris Chrisite - PERFECT as governor for New jersey - the best we can get right now. But HARDLY a conservative icon, DESPITE what that increasingly shrill harridan Ann Coulter says about him (and Mitt Romney - ANOTHER recent love of hers.)
opinion
LOl!
Charles you need to keep reading the Google results, when you catch up, you can correct yourself.
I agree completely.
Does any one know what experience Christy has in a private enterprise in a position of responsibility? Or has he always worked for the government? I think he was a prosecutor?
You beat me to the “truth squad” comment. Chris Christie taking a shot at any candidate over immigration/illegal issue softness, Muslim or not, is like Mittster taking a shot at any candidate over “flip-flopping”.
Yes, His stance on 2nd amendment issues is a deal breaker for me. Not too happy about his pick for the judgeship, either.
Really? You thinks so?
Just two months after saying yes, the County College of Morris (CCM) board of trustees changed course and said no on April 20 to allowing county illegal immigrants to pay the same tuition as other students who live in Morris County.
Although most New Jersey public colleges and universities admit illegal immigrants, and charge them out-of-county or out-of-state tuition, CCM had been one of the only New Jersey public colleges to ban illegal immigrants.
The late February vote to change policies came after barring undocumented students from entering CCM since 2002, in response to the 9/11 attacks. The February vote also meant charging those students in-county tuition rates.
They rejected taxpayers supplementing undocumented students tuitions, citing a 1998 federal law. It would require giving all U.S. citizens, even from other states, the in-county tuition rate if illegal immigrants received that rate.
Doesn’t matter. The point is that as soft as Christie is on illegal immigration, Perry is even softer.
Hey, isn't it time for your daily posting of the completely refuted and debunked 81% immigrant jobs study?
Unlike Perry, Christie does have some non government experience.
