Acknowledging that "decisions have to be made" quickly, Sarah Palin on Tuesday laid out a case for not running for president in 2012.
Appearing on Fox News' On the Record, a favorite venue, Palin appeared to be talking herself out of the race in an interview with host Greta Van Susteren.
"Is a campaign too shackling?" she mused. As the GOP's 2008 vice presidential nominee, Palin said she felt encumbered by "handlers." Running for office "prohibits the freedom one needs to really make a difference," said the self-described "rogue" politician.
Added Palin: "You don't need a title to make a difference."
Palin, who set off widespread speculation about her intentions with a series of high-profile bus tours this summer and campaign-like videos on her website, acknowledged that she can't wait much longer to make up her mind. "You have to get your ducks lined up in order to get your names on ballots," she said. Deadlines begin to fall for candidate filings in some states next month.

Great interview with Palin on Fox Business tonight:

Indeed. Thank you so much for sharing your insights!
“the genius from Wasilla is positioning herself for 2020”
You could be right about that but I would prefer to wait for her announcement.
It’s possible with High Definition TV
What if Gov Palin gets 43% in a third party run leaving the other two to share the remaining 57% about equally?
I am sorry but you probably will not like or appreciate my opinion after watching that video of Palin.Thank you for posting it but I can’t lie at my honest reaction to it.I quit watching the video when she said she is Herman Cain’s biggest fan and she questioned how anyone dared question her intent.I am sorry as much as I could watch in that video showed me I have lost respect for her.Her victim role looks divaish now.I never thought I would turn Sarah Palin off because I have had enough but I sadly just did.
Palin seemed upset anyone dared to question her.(Juan, the Judge...I am so sorry but it reminds me of her most bizarre supporters on here)The ones that act just like Palin did and call admin mod and have chldish hissy fits because not all are worshiping Palin (NO MATTER WHAT SHE SAYS OR DOES) like a cult.
I am glad someone called Gov. Palin out on her ‘flavor of the week’comment. That obviously bothered me for so many reasons. As a paid political commentator-it is my opinion she gets paid way too much money because quite simply,Gov. Palin does not do a good job politically commentating. She finally got mister Cain’s first name correct. She still appears to be ‘making a decision’.
I feel Palin does a poor job politically commenting because she has a huge conflict of interest commenting on her supposed soon to be? competition.I think she said she is a big fan of Herman Cain’s because she would accept a VP invite that she is not going to get because of her games and bad commentating. How can she be Herman Cain’s ‘biggest fan’ as a supposed biased political commentator that didn’t even know his first name a few days ago?
Her current job on Fox News is a conflict of interest wouldn’t you agree? Her ‘making a decision’ each month after month, after month (after giving a lengthy speech on the role of running for the President confining her and she doesn’t ‘need’ a title.)Is strange and wishy washy;wouldn’t you agree?Yes it is a hard decision but she has milked this way too far.I could see Gov. Palin herself if asked; to stand on the outside and comment about herself as another potential candidate say,Well Sean, that shows indecisiveness as a potential candidate they need to get off the pot already even though polls are just for strippers.Don’t you agree she would say something like this?
Think for yourself. That’s great! But she is milking it.Her current job is a conflict of interest.
To Gov. Palin’s credit; as I just said in another thread.I think she is obviously conflicted at what is best for this country;and what her role should be.
-Her voice with a powerful microphone shaping the tea party
-Or running for President.
I happen to think; her voice with a powerful microphone is how she can best serve this country with her servant’s heart.(Or as energy secretary as well, after she shapes what is to come to TAKE AMERICA back.)
Her diehard supporters on here sadly don’t seem to have Gov. Palin’s humility as most of them post every day, ‘Palin will not settle for anything but President.’That does not reflect well on Palin and she may not be my flavor of the week but she is not arrogant. Her ‘Palin or nobody,’I will write in Palin’s name even if it means more Obama,’ loony supporters, AKA Palin Bots (Not normal supporters) that post here daily.
Considering some of the stuff I read this sounds completely believable. And they can motivate real legit (but unstable) posters to follow as the pack syndrome.
Watch for posters that signed up many years ago and started first commenting only recently, as well as new ones.
I didn’t watch the video, sorry I’m burned out on watching Palin at all.
The only thing I hope is that this is all a setup for her to endorse Cain rather than run herself.
No doubt. Some hide in the Palin Ping lists some don’t...
I agree, it does sound believable and would explain a few of the psychos.
Elite liberals can do that because they have the weight of the press in their pocket. Republicans are ONLY allowed to run milktoast, mushy, kinda liberal RINO types like McCain if they don't want to invoke MSM rage.
The boys at the New York Times were able to find small Alaskan villages, but couldn't seem to locate Chicago on any of their maps.
We know the Minister of Public Enlightenment powers - the Goebbels of the world...and their mild offspring - the 'we suck more' gang of eltie one-sided reporting.
What do I know but I don’t think she can officially endorse anyone while she is a paid commentator for a million for supposedly a 3 year contract on Fox News. How could she then fairly and objectively comment on the 2012 POTUS contnders?

Which BTW-Fox pays well IMO- Juan Williams got 2 mil-3 year contract

Sean Hannity got 20 mil a year just to do his radio show
QUOTE OF THE CENTURY!The MSM is making fun of Christie being fat and the man has never indicated he is running. The MSM HATE conservative women even more so then men. They can all go to hell!
If she had 43% of the popular vote, nationally, in a three party race her position would be much better. Nevertheless, the electoral college decides so it would matter where the votes were cast.
And the electoral college is the GOP. Is that your point?
The issue is that in races which involve more than two parties - it can happen, and indeed has happened fifteen times according to the above FEC pdf, that a person with a minority vote (less than 50%) wins. Clinton did not have the majority in 1992 or 1996.
More to the point, even in a two horse race it can happen. The example given in the above was a candidate (e.g. Palin) winning by a slim margin in many states while the opponent, the popular vote leader (e.g. Obama), wins by huge margins but in fewer states.
