I agree with your assessment.

Perry has withstood many broadside attacks...and he is still standing. But, this presents him with an opportunity and the country is watching.

He must stand up in debate and in his campaign nationally to redeem himself.

I think he was tired in the last debate (too much pressure with fires in Texas and his retail style of campaigning).

He must gather himself and demonstrate to the country that he can fight back.

I personally think this is what he excels at. But only he can demonstrate that.

Wow! That’s very nice. Thank you. I love all the support from fellow FReepers. We make a good team for Perry and hope we’ll continue to stand tall and do proud his belief in American exceptionalism.

You know, Marty, I read where there is a similar case coming before the Supreme Court as in your example of children brought in by illegals, and now threatened. This should settle this strawman purity contest about who departs whom in America, especially when though different border the Cuban’s human toe on American soil is auto citizenship. Hypocrisy abounds and voters are going to catch on....in spades.

I know he’s been doing non-stop fundraising as it has to be done and will be key. Also, hopefully his back surgery hasn’t been an issue and he’s healed well.

MY SC Representative Mick Mulvaney actually joined the Perry team.
I contacted him and registered my disappointment in the man who beat the unbeatable John Spratt.

Up til now Mick has been a great conservative Tea Party legislator so I won't hold this one boneheaded move against him.

There are many `conservatives’ in New York, too.
Giuliani, uh, hmmm ...

All I’m saying is that Maryland `conservatives’ are as conservative as any east coast Republicans.

Thank you for that information. I know there are a lot of decisions that go into an endorsement and they all are very important and precious to get.

His history says he will. In this country we love those that overcome adversity. If he gets on track in the debates he should be in good shape. As you say "it's up to him".

As someone who knows pain (and knows it makes for strength of character)...I suspect he has been in much pain.

He can overcome it...and if he is the 'anointed one' (in a Christian sense), he will.

Thx again for all your great work!

I’d say your Representative is a smart guy.

Too bad you can’t see his wise decision and follow him.

Btw, stop whining about everything.

Conservatives don’t call conservatives heartless racists.

I guess Perry can bookend that with LIBERALS raking him over the coals for not stopping the execution of a Texas death row murderer (brought to the U.S. by his parents).

Correcting the misguided is not “whining” I'll have you know.

Perry is Texas toast-his last debate was his roast-nothing but boast-second rate at most.

Rock you like a Herman Cain!

"How is this going to help him string three thoughts together in a debate?"

It's not. That's why his campaign is trying as quickly as possible to round up as many pols as "Seals of Approval" stamped on his forehead to hide his complete inadequacy for the job. It's totally hilarious and indicative of his situation right now. I remember a comment by Pat Buchanan back in 96 when he was running against Dole (whom he beat in NH), but Dole furiously was trying to win all the pols endorsements, Buchanan quipped that the "establishment" was hurriedly trying to carry Dole on it's back across the Finish Line.

That's one of the things I DO admire Texas for—their seriousness about Capital Punishment.
“You have to die partner, but we can get you a discount degree in Agriculture at A&M til then.”

Oh,by the way, welcome to the SEC, Aggies—bout time we got some Texas competition—good football country,Texas.
Real tough conference and some long drives to away games but if you win the SEC you deserve the championship.

Well, he was sitting on death row for years and missed out on the in-state tuition that was signed into law in 2001. So he was in-state but costing the taxpayers for his board and keep, unlike the students who are paying their tab.

Maryland??? LOL!! Now there’s a bastion of conservatism for ya.

Call me when they get around to allowing their peasantry shall-issue handgun permits. Like 40 plus other states.

I agree. Governor Perry used a poor choice of words. I give a low grade for Governor Perry in the debate for not being able to deliver on the issues in a convincing manner. There was so much opportunity to hit the ball out of the park. By failing to say what he means by not having a heart, he illustrated his huge deficiency that will severely hurt him later on. It was this criticism towards fellow conservatives that turned off the audience and was a serious mistake. He cannot make those mistakes. For instance, he would have been better if he told what it means to have a heart. That would have opened up an opportunity to tell who he is. It told us how low on the learning curve he is in the debate format and how susceptible he is in gotcha moments. He needs to work hard to overcome his deficiency. We will need a first class performance when he comes against Zer0 and the State Owned Media.

I hope he gets it together because in his heart, he is a come-to-Jesus conservative. By that I mean Perry has changed from a liberal Democrat to a conservative Republican. That is the best kind of conservative we can get. He knows the enemy intimately. He knows how they work and how to defeat them. I know his heart is in the right place, but his mind has not picked up the language yet. He is still speaking in tongues. However, God willing, he will have a come-to Jesus moment towards generating excitement in everything he says.

My motives are most appropriate. I want the best conservative with the best chances of beating Obama to be the nominee. After extensive research, Rick Perry looks to be the best of the lot. He has the best executive conservative governing record of anyone. He's solid on economic, military and social issues. I do like Herman Cain, what conservative wouldn't. But I don't see him getting the nomination. Bachmann is in meldown. Got to stop Romney!
