Tucson town hall over Fast and Furious

It was a botched operation that sent more than 2,000 guns into the hands of Mexican cartel members.

There are still many questions about the federal gun-running investigation known as Operation Fast and Furious, but Monday night there were some answers.

The Tucson Tea Party hosted a town hall meeting at CDO High School Monday night in an attempt to the get the facts straight about the under cover operation that essentially armed the Mexican cartels.

"We want to make sure that all the documentation on who knew who OK'd comes forward," said District 1 Representative Paul Gosar while addressing the crowd.

Arizona Congressman Paul Gosar told a crowd of more than 600 people that the White House knew weapons were being sold to Mexican gang members as part of Operation Fast and Furious.

"Attorney General Eric Holder in a speech in Mexico City actually outlines tactical changes to Operation Gun Runner and it details exactly what transpires to be Fast and Furious. So there has to be some connection of who knew about this," said Gosar.

More Fast and Furious hearings could come as early as next month

http://www.abc15.com/dpp/news/local_news/investigations/more-fast-and-furious-hearings-could-come-as-early-as-next-month

More Congressional hearings in the Fast and Furious case could come as early as next month, meanwhile hearings could be starting up right here in Arizona.

Congressman Darrell Issa, Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and committee member, Rep. Paul Gosar, were in Phoenix over the weekend, talking to the ABC15 Investigators about the future of the controversial case, which involves the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

More hearings will come, they said. The next people called to testify will likely do so in front of both the House Judiciary Committee and the Oversight and Government Reform committee, jointly.

“We want (the House Judiciary Committee) who has direct oversight over the Attorney General and of (the Department of Justice) to take a more active role, and we believe they will,” Issa said. Eventually, Attorney General Eric Holder and Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer will be called to testify, he said.

“This is the kind of thing that threatens the fabric of how America trusts law enforcement,” he said. “So, [the investigation] goes on until we get a real understanding that this can never happen again.”

I’m glad that the Tea Parties are getting involved.

Everyone should be very VOCAL about Fast and Furious.

I was just explaining it to a couple this weekend. They had vaguely heard about it but had no idea exactly what had happened. They were shocked about it.

We can’t assume people know about these thing.

Talk, talk, talk to anyone who will listen. Spread the word.

This is beyond an outrage.

Under GWB the U.S. lost 630 American soldiers in Afghanistan in approximately 87 months. In approximately 32 months under Obozo, the U.S. has lost 1157 American soldiers. Is it any wonder, then, that this administration would play fast and loose with Mexican drug dealers? Obozo and Holder doesn’t give a damn about American or Mexican lives.

Dupnik is less a sheriff than he is a bandit. And he runs a law enforcement agency that makes the Scottsdale, AZ police department look good by comparison. I have close friends who are moving from Tucson to Prescott. They frequently have had their mail stolen right out of their mailbox. I was always afraid that some bandito might choggy on down their suburban lane and cut their throats because of the inefficiency of the Pima County Sheriff’s office. (Or because the bandito had paid off a county sheriff to not be around that night.)

I agree. We Freepers have been digging into F & F for months. It is a more complicated story that we realize, and even though Cheryl Atkinson has done a good job on the CBS website, to my knowledge CBS has never put her work on air. The general public does not understand the story yet, and more importantly, its criminal implications.

And crickets from NBC, MSNBC.

This might be a breakthrough. When I saw MestaMachine’s post (hours too late), I started taping Fox, hoping it would repeat. It was covered, but I don’t know if I saw what MestaMachine saw. If it covers the whole story, the video would be great for people who know nothing about F & F to get up to speed. There is more than enough info known that FOX could easily do an hour special on it.

From MestaMachine:

GREAT report on Fox just a few minutes ago. Sipsey Street and the Examniner were featured very prominently along with Codrea and Vanderboegh. They didn’t leave out a thing. Wm. Lajeunesse. Maybe video in about half an hour. Will watch for it.

Yes, and this was a reasonably well-informed couple. Regular Fox News viewers who dislike Obama greatly.

I agree we must keep this going but IMO we also must insist that those that are responsible are held accountable. The following statement gives me zero confidence in ISSA.

““So, [the investigation] goes on until we get a real understanding that this can never happen again.”

The ONLY way to make sure this can’t happen again is if those responsible are brought to justice and charged with the crimes they have committed. Guilty parties to this debacle must be sent to prison. Any resolution short of that is actually making corruption like this in the BATFE worse. It would send a message that even if you get caught nothing will happen and you are likely to get promoted to a higher paying do nothing job in return for keeping your mouth shut.

I can’t think of a reply about Obama and Holder that wouldn’t get me banned so I’ll just...

“Proud dad of an Army Soldier currently deployed in the Valley of Death, Afghanistan”

Thank your son (or daughter) for his service.

Correct - Gosar and Babeu have been taking this event around the State and last night was Tucson’s turn.

The Tea Party in Tucson is large.

Tucson’s leftist sheriff: Dupnik (Dipstick or Dufus)

He is the one who blamed the Tea Party for the idiot who shot the Congresswoman.

He was the one who was “in charge” when the X-Marine was gunned down by the SWAT team & and the later admitted his weapon never was taken off safety. The one who was shot between 40-70 times depending on who talked about it.

Yes, he is a leftist idiot.
