In Pakistan, we NEVER HAD an ally. We simply BOUGHT a temporary companion — who hated us.

Here, let me move these paragtraphs around and clarify some of the reporters verbage:
On Thursday in prepared remarks to the US Senate Armed Services Committee, Admiral Mike Mullen, of the US joint chiefs of staff, said that the Haqqani network is a "veritable arm" of Pakistan's military intelligence agency.

Mullen said the ISI supported the Haqqani network in its attack last week on the US embassy and NATO headquarters in Kabul. "The Haqqani network ... acts as a veritable arm of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence agency," Mullen said.

The Haqqani network, which is distinct from the Afghan Taliban, is one of the factions that are fighting the US and NATO troops in Afghanistan.

"With ISI support, Haqqani operatives planned and conducted [a September 11] truck bomb attack, as well as the assault on our embassy," Mullen said.

"We also have credible intelligence that they were behind the June 28 attack against the Inter-Continental Hotel in Kabul and a host of other smaller but effective operations."

Hina Rabbani Khar, the Pakistani foreign minister told Geo TV in New York in remarks broadcast on Friday, directed at the US, "You will lose an ally."

"You cannot afford to alienate Pakistan, you cannot afford to alienate the Pakistani people. If you are choosing to do so and if they are choosing to do so it will be at their [the United States'] own cost."

General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, termed Mullen's comments as "very unfortunate and not based on facts".

"This is especially disturbing in view of a rather constructive meeting with Admiral Mullen in Spain," Kayani said in a statement.

Kayani indicated he was, "categorically denying the accusations of proxy war and ISI support to Haqqanis."

Kayani wished that "the blame game in public statements should give way to a constructive and meaningful engagement for a stable and peaceful."
So, who are you going to believe?

The Pakistani military and leadership, who for years had Osama bin Laden living in a secret, large compound in the shadow of their military academy, supposedly unaware that he was right there in one of their most secure cities, surrounded by tens of thosuands of their military's besta?

Or are you going to believe Admiral Mullens who has a stellar record in the War on Terror and in using the US intelligence agencies to root out terrorists all over the world?

Fact is, Pakistan is a nation split, horribly split, between a large segment of its population who would like peace and prosperity, and another large segment who are wholly committed to radical Islamic Jihad...against the United States, its allies, and their own citizens.

It has been shown on numerous occassions that high level operatives within the Pakistani intelligence agency and military have sold out the US and their own people in order to aid and abbett the terrorists.

With all of that on the table, it is not hard to understand what the truth is here...and why Pakistani officials are denying it so hard in public.

Some of the officials know and are perhaps a part of the problem...others cannot allow their own people to know how infitrated and compromised they are.

Sadly, here in the US, we also are infitrated with enemy sympathizers and those who despise America, clear to the leaders in our own government.

THE MAN WHO DESPISES AMERICA

MARXISM IN AMERICA

2012 cannot come quickly enough. We must double down on 2010 and route the vipers out of our own government.

There is no such thing as a muslim “ally” to a non-muslim nation.

EXACTLY.
Since when do allies sponsor attacks against U.S. Embassies?

Yes, we bought a temporary companion - a whore.

Hopefully we got our monies worth - because fidelity was obviously NOT part of the purchase price.

Lemme see.....hide Bin Laden and probably Zawahiri & Co., arrest a few jihadis every now and then...turn them loose when US attention is diverted.....send the army up into the jihadi badlands with plenty hullaballoo....do nothing and then retreat quietly. Provide support for insurgents fighting the US in Afghanistan, blowing up CIA agents and killing SEALs. Attacking the US Embassy in Kabul.

For this they get billions from the US.....what's not to like ?

Pakistan is like this “over-the-hill” prostitute and US has always been a very generous customer.... but is losing interest now. Pakistan doesnt have too many generous customers left who are willing to patronize an old whore. The Chinese and Saudis has been screwing her for free.

Yup and after all of that... Pakistan has the gall to put the onus on US to be a “good ally”. And that is the art they have mastered.

It is an ally to the current President.

And the US policy has been to destabilize Israel to protect our interest in the area, but just keep things from breaking out into war.
