The burning question for me is why did Wendy’s decide to stop salting their fries? And did Michelle have something to do with it?
I still can’t forget that McDonalds stopped frying their fries in lard many years ago. Julia Child loved them and openly expressed her admiration for them.
I can't speak for Wendy's, but years ago, when I worked for Long John Silver's, we NEVER salted the fries. But that might have been due to the way the design of the food-prep line. The fry bin was right next to the fryers. During training, we were informed that we shouldn't salt the fries because the salt could get into the oil and it would cause the oil to break down.

Wendy’s still salts, they just use sea salt now.
