WASHINGTON, Sept 14 (Reuters) - President Barack Obama's approval rating got a small lift after he unveiled a jobs plan last week, keeping him ahead of all potential Republican rivals in the 2012 election, a Reuters/Ipsos poll said on Wednesday.
The percentage of Americans who view Obama's performance favorably edged up to 47 percent in the poll conducted Sept. 8-12. The president, a Democrat, unveiled his $447 billion job creation proposal on Sept. 8.
Obama's approval rating was 45 percent in August and has hovered between 43 and 51 percent for more than a year.

adults poll fail
Outlandish demographics plus the 2 point boost falls within the moe.
The libs are desperately grasping at anything they can to keep the hope alive among the great unwashed.
Manipulators and liars. Nothing more.
Last night Dick Morris said that Barry only got a 1% boost, and that it indicated that no one was buying anymore what Barry was selling.
So 48% Dems were used in sample and his approval is at 47%. Presto.
Too bad the current Gallup Party ID shows:
Independents 38
Dems 31
Repub 29
LOL. 2 points is a “lift”? If those had been the results after a Bush speech, the headline would be TOTALLY different, emphasizing the FAILURE to boost approval ratings beyond the margin of error.
Yes, here they come with the fake polls the way they did when Clinton got into trouble. It worked then, will it work now?
This guy is a masterful liar. He goes out and gives a speech and suddenly a significant percentage of people forget what a incompetent clown he has been as President.
We are going to have to fight as hard as we have ever fought next year. The Progressive Fascist machine in DC is not going to give up without a serious fight.
Have the Democrats even submitted the President’s job bill to Congress yet? Or is it still vapor legislation?
