Well, lack of funds means lack of support. That’s what it all boils down to. She has no support past the Tea Party, and frankly, she really doesn’t have all the Tea Party behind her since her recent showings. She can, of course, use her own money, but it’s a drop in the bucket. She doesn’t have the support to launch a bid. And once she’s officially not running, her teams of supporters have to find a new candidate and will take their time and money to a real candidate.

DRey, I felt a little antagonism there, as if I said something wrong. Maybe you just thought I was being stupid. I had been thinking about the possible situation I referred to, and when I read something you had posted on the thread, it brought me to that thought again. I just thought I would share those thoughts with you as well.

I’m not arguing that she should enter the race... or not. I’m not under the belief that she will have the funds to run a campaign respectful of the highest political officer in our land. I wasn’t changing who I already support for this race. That post was simply sharing and was two-fold.

1. I wondered if she may have been trying to “fund” herself with the tour, movie, etc. I respect your knowledge and hoped you could let me know if that is what people do sometimes. Is that common or accepted practice to try to raise your own funds? Just wondering, and I don’t know the answer. Thought maybe you have that info and could respond with info.

and

2. I was sharing my empathy for what may be just a bad situation. While I am supporting Rick Perry for the presidential race, that doesn’t mean I don’t have some feelings for a lovely woman who has taken a special place in our country’s history.

Here’s the deal for me on that second point: I know I have felt frustrated when I hear some of the posters here say things like “she’s got her own way of doing things” (AKA she can snub her nose at everyone and everything and still get ahead) and “she has her own timing (AKA she can snub her nose at everyone and everything and still get ahead) and “she’ll just jump in and she’ll have all she needs” (AKA she can snub her nose at everyone and everything and still get ahead). To hear those kinds of things over and over again has dampened my thoughts of her completely. I did not WANT to think less of her; I wanted to maintain some respect for this woman who did a lot for conservatism and for our GOP party, but those things did cause me to think less of her.

Maybe I should not have chosen you to vocalize a new-found empathy for her - a soft spot where I actually feel sorry for her now. I was thinking... If she does have funding problems, which I really think may be the case, how HARD it must be for her to hear her supporters who say all those things like I just mentioned... those things and a whole lot more which puts her even more into a box. Perform perfectly, yet no funds to do so. That must be pretty hard for someone.

As for the slight antagonism I sensed (which perhaps I was wrong in sensing but I did)... I wasn’t dissing Rick Perry. I know you are a genuine supporter of Rick Perry and that you like him very much - know he is a good man. I was not dissing Rick Perry at all. I thought you knew I support Rick Perry in this presidential race too, and I have not moved at all in my commitment to that.

I just thought I would share my heart’s burden on how hard it must be for Sarah Palin to be in a tough financial situation, even if it IS from a lack of support. It must just be hard for such a woman and especially a woman who has so many people say so many things on her behalf.

I think you and I would agree that even if she does enter the race now, that her funding is minimal. Furthermore, support for her is showing very low, and she will not have the funds to run the important race one needs to run in a national campaign, especially one as important as The President of The United States. If any of her supporters diminishes what should be expected for such a lofty goal, I would feel they are marginalizing the presidency.

I guess I just had a moment of thinking about her as a person and giving her, as a human being, the benefit of the doubt that she is not just toying with people but instead facing a really difficult situation.

If I have bothered you by picking you out to share those thoughts, please accept my apologies. I guess I should not have thought it would be of interest to you, and I will be more aware of any burdensome posts from this point out.
