Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and U.S. President Barack Obama will meet in New York next week, with Iraq expected to be high on their agenda, a senior Turkish official said Wednesday.
The meeting, which will occur on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly, was requested by Washington and is likely to be a lengthy one, Deputy Prime Minister Beşir Atalay said on CNNTürk. He added that Turkeys efforts to curb Kurdish militants based in northern Iraq and possible complications in Iraq in the wake of the U.S. militarys looming pullout would be discussed in detail.
Atalay said there was nothing more natural than for Turkey to assume a more active role in neighboring Iraq after the withdrawal of U.S. troops.

Turkey has become really hyper lately, with this Erdogan as PM. Even some in the Arab world are telling him to chill.

Much appreciated.
This guy is trouble. I wonder how low Obama will bow to him?
The wookie's gone, with the kids, and the SS doesn't seem to care THAT much ...
“Obama sits down with the Muslim Turks.....either the Kurds or the Israeli’s are going to get screwed....or maybe both.”
The Syrians, Turks and Iranians are already taking down the Kurds and the PPPK. Looks like they are trying to create a land bridge from Turkey to Israel.
Yup—”obama, is it ok for Turkey to cross the border into Kurdistan (IRAQ) and kill them... just like Saddam? OK huh, huh?”
Obama has the Kurds best interest at heart. A different new kind of muslim.

We're leaving Iraq, personally I wouldn't bother leaving the 3,000 troops. If we're leaving, just leave. Erdogan understands we're powerless, what is there to talk about.
Chamberlain holds talks with Hitler.
