Ignorance may be part of her supposedly “extreme” position, and maybe the best data shows that the things she’s waging a scare campaign about aren’t anywhere near as common as she makes out — but I can’t say she’s any more ignorant than Perry was when he promulgated that turkey.

Not sure I agree with that. Perry was at least thinking about what was best for his constituents...he wanted to help prevent cervical cancer. There was an opt out available. I frankly don't see much difference between this and other mandatory vaccinations. There is a small statistical chance of problems with any vaccination, but the overwhelming majority benefit.
