President Barack Obama hit the road on Friday to drum up support for the American Jobs act, which he announced in a speech to a joint session of Congress on Thursday, and he really put his back into it. "Obama is yelling again," tweeted David Corn, Mother Jones's Washington editor, shortly after the speech began. Toward the end, his volume grew even louder -- Politico's live blog described his crescendo of "Let's get something done" as a roar, before the "forceful" words, "let's get to work."
The president is flogging a $447 billion plan that aims to create jobs. He faced a largely supportive crowd in Richmond, but reaction to the plan itself has been mixed. As Obama urged students to put pressure on Congress to pass the plan he told them, "I want you to call, I want you to e-mail, I want you to Tweet." But he should perhaps be careful of his own email blasts.
The Washington Post's Dave Nakamura points out in a blog post on Friday that the White House press office sent out 39 messages in about an hour on Thursday, declaring various supporters who had signed onto the jobs act. It was a bit much for Nakamura who dubbed Obama in his headline: "Spammer in chief."
Some aide told Obama to stop sounding like a wimp...Get ready for 14 months of this crap. And the media lap dogs will orgasm all over themselves once again.
"And to make sure the money is properly spent, were building on reforms weve already put in place. No more earmarks. No more boondoggles."

Standard advice to law school students: 1) when the facts aren’t on your side, argue the law; 2) when the law isn’t on your side, argue the facts; 3) when neither the law nor the facts are on your side, get up and yell alot to distract the judge and jury from the fact you have no case.
“”I want you to call, I want you to e-mail, I want you to Tweet.”
It’s always about him..
I’m Gumby, DAMMIT.
I think (.)bama is smarting from some rebukes he has gotten recently...the Tea Party would not go along with his plan; the Speaker would not give him the time he wanted; his diminished image.
This guy is insane, criminally insane, and unfortunately we are going to have to listen to this crap for another 14 months. Worse, when he is rebuked by the electorate, he is going to strike out farther against the people and in fact may necessatate someone seeing if he can be declared mentally incompetent to continue. Keep those 25th amendmend documents close at hand.
Obama & Hitler, two birds of a feather!!! Both nutcases and...totally insane!!! Hitler was the anti-Christ number two. And....African Muslim, Obama is the anti-Christ number three. Number one was no one other then the lead-in to Hitler & Obama, Napoleon Bonaparte!!! What a team of destruction!!!
An audiocratic leader. Has nothing usefull to say but says it loudly and often.
Taken lessons from the Goron ?
obama is always bossing people around, but he never actually does anything himself.
That’s the thing though, there is no plan yet. He’s working on it next week (or something).
Saying there’s an American Jobs Act vs. producing a written one (so everyone can pour over the detail) are two vastly different things.
I remember my days as a college student; if this happened at some “rally” and we were getting yelled at, we’d have started laughing. Or at least looking at each other with smirks saying “who is this nut?” College kids don’t like being yelled at; it reminds them too much of their parents.
And I went to a pretty liberal university (yeah, redundant, I know).
Call the dog and ready the bunker. Der fuhrer is waiting.
CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW!!
1. Demand that people approve legislation that hasn't been written yet.
2. Cheer someone who demands that people approve legislation that hasn't been written yet.
The problem is, even the 'smart' liberals realize this is true. Obama is cutting them off at the knees by his flagrant, brazen idiocy. There's no way to marshal an intellectual argument, even by slanted liberal standards, when there is nothing on the table to argue over.
It's even dumber than "we have to pass the bill to see what's in it." There's no bill at all. It's a speech. It's like asking the crowd to sing along with a song that hasn't been written yet. Even if they wanted to, there's nothing for them to do but stand around and wait.
