President Barack Obama will honor NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson and the 11 other Chase drivers from last year in a White House ceremony on Wednesday but nearly half of the 2010 playoff contenders wont be there.
NASCAR said Thursday that five drivers Greg Biffle, Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart will not be attending the White House visit due to schedule conflicts.
They must be very busy people. Regardless of ones political views, the president is still the president and an opportunity to speak with the leader of the free world is a rare and special one.
Youd think whatever photo shoots or sponsor appearances these drivers have lined up on Wednesday afternoon if thats indeed the reason could be rescheduled. After all, this is the President of the United States were talking about here.

I know that Biffle is spending time with his wife and kids prior to them going back to school.

Correction!!! Biffle is spending time with his newborn daughter and his wife. I don’t know what I was thinking.
Who are the ones who planning to attend the ceremony?
So 5 of 12 said no to Bo-Bo? What’s the big deal? Obama can lie and BS the other 7 saps.
When your down nobody wants to hang around you.
Obama has truly transcended the office of president.
racist racers
I fully understand why any one of them would decline the invitation. There is an infinite number of reasons - any one of them perfectly valid.
Good for them I would not go either. ugh.
Regardless of ones political views, the president is still the president and an opportunity to speak with the leader of the free world is a rare and special one.
0bama can kiss my azz. I’d walk out of a room if he entered.
FUBO!!!
“Regardless of ones political views, the president is still the president”
And a jackass is still a jackass...
Guess just snapping your fingers doesn’t work any more.
Is it tradition to host NASCAR drivers from their last year’s win? Long stretch between win to now.
Apparently, this clot thinks it should also be mandatory.
Sorry, bub, no Royal Commands here....yet.
I’m not attending either. I have to wash my car.
Good for them.
I wouldn’t accept an invite to the Obama White House if you paid me. (Not that there is any chance of that.)
When your down nobody wants to hang around you.
Not true.
0bama is an evil bastard. They don’t want to hang around an enemy.
Busch’s fault.
