On Thursday the House Energy and Commerce Committee ramped up its ongoing investigation of the federal government’s $535 million loan to Solyndra, a solar energy company that recently announced it will file for bankruptcy.
In a letter to the White House, committee Chairman Fred Upton and Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Chairman Cliff Stearns requested a scheduled briefing on the matter by no later than September 12 and asked for all documents related to the loan guarantee between Solyndra and the White House.
In 2009, Solyndra was the recipient of a half-billion-dollar loan through the Department of Energy, funded by stimulus monies. The company was touted as a model of President Obama’s green energy initiative. But despite heavy backing by the federal government, the company struggled to meet expectations, falling fall short of the 4,000 or so jobs it was projected to create.

I am not convinced Solyndra itself did anything wrong. Unless some sweetheart deal with a politician was involved, looks like they took the money and did with it what they promised to do.
Whatever bureaucrat opted to bet on Solyndra knowing that far cheaper foreign firms (especially China) would come in, vastly undercut them, and eat their lunch, leaving the taxpayer stuck with another worthless investment — he or she should (figuratively) walk the plank.

This is how career Dem politicians can afford “to serve the public.” They set up these phony baloney companies, suck millions form the Feds, pay themselves enough to be set for life, donate some cash back to the Party, and return to $150K/yr. government salaries. See Raihm Emmanuel, Terry Mcauliff, etc., etc.
The money just comes back around to Obama in Campaign money. Then after leaving then presidency in speaking fee’s and book deals. Also insider trading for future government kickbacks
