Even as the massive manhunt for accused child molester Charles Alan Dyer continues in the Sealy area, some have come forward to defend the fugitive as a “patriot” and claiming the government is persecuting him for being “a Constitutionalist.”
Shortly after posting the initial story about the manhunt earlier today, InstantNewsKaty began receiving e-mails and telephone calls from individuals claiming to have knowledge of the case against Dyer.
One e-mail claimed federal authorities were pursuing Dyer because he is “a constitutionalist (sic) federal authorities are afraid of what he will do.”

OK, admit it. Who else thought this was going to be about Scott Ritter?
I guess it’s not impossible to be both a constitutionalist and a child molester.
If he is indeed the second, I disown him from any support for being the first.

Sounds like the ex-wife accused him? Not sure. He’s going through a divorce. If he did, in fact, burn his own house down and not show up for his hearing...that’s not going to help his case much.
Divorce cases now often involve utter false and vicious allegations. There is really no way to get to the truth of these allegations.
In a more general vein, people ought remember that the government loves to slime people with allegations like this - the Wenatchee “Witch Trials”, the McMartin case, and the Amirault case are just a few examples.
David Koresh too. Wasn’t child abuse Janet Reno’s excuse? So they torched the place to kill all the kids.
That is sad if he torched his own home.
What better way to smear someone and ensure that no one will help him?
At this point he is still innocent.
But few will want to support his ‘patriotic’ views if they know they’ll be labeled a supporter of a child molester.
He is really close to my area.
After I heard there was an escaped convict and did some searching...found out rumor all wrong.
