Are there any freepers here with closer knowledge of this..I was out of country mostly when all this went down or living in Miami..

I recall reading about it

anyone with hard evidence knowledge?...it sounds bad but what was the evidence...I’m purely ignorant on it

I occasionally see some folks with the T-shirts here in Nashville area “ Free the West Memphis...”

one is a bouncer at the Wheel on lower Broadway ..honky tonk...on the smoking side of Broadway across from Tootsies and Roberts

I was tempted to ask the guy but it’s so loud...the infrequent times my wife and I go to bars downtown

What it sounds like their contention is that there is more evidence that one of the fathers did the deed than these three. They claim to have been railroaded in a rush to judgment and now that the DNA evidence is able to be examined, it cannot place any of the three at the crime scene, but that father’s hair was on the rope.

I followed the murder from day one. Never once thought they were guilty. At the time the murders occurred, the whole nation was caught up in the “devil worship” scare. No evidence, crazy fathers and fathers in law, leads never followed up on, and a rush to convict. I consider myself to the right of Attila the Hun. They are not quilty. For those who would like, search the internet for the whole story.

We were on our way back to Little Rock when we heard they were released.

My wife knew a lot more about it than I did since her hometown is an hour west of West Memphis and her mother was always filling her in.

It seemed they rushed the prosecution 18 years ago, mostly because one of the three supposedly confessed. Being Arkansas, they probably didn’t want to spend the money (more expensive back then and not as reliable) on DNA test.

So now they agreed to “acknowledge” their “guilt” based on the prosecution evidence in order to be declared “innocent” by the court. ? Huh ?

The local news stations in Little Rock were reporting this was a way for the state to cover their butts in a law suit.
