“When you accept money in payment for your effort, you do so only on the conviction that you will exchange it for the product of the effort of others. It is not the moochers or the looters who give value to money.”

“Money is the barometer of a society’s virtue. When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion – when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing – when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors – when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you – when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice – you may know that your society is doomed.”

Did you catch Rush yesterday?

He was relating Paul Krugman’s verbal diarrhea of, “digging holes and filling them up again” as an example of productive work. And another way to kick-start our economic engine and spur the U.S. economy? Krugman says the ticket is “Invading space aliens.”

These people are dangerous fools.

An excellent quote in an excellent post. The biggest problem I have seen among pseudo-”conservatives” (in name only) is that so many fail to realize that there is NO economic freedom left in the U.S. The class of people who don’t want to work, is really quite small in my opinion. The class of people who don’t wish to jump through the hoops that have been imposed upon us through rampant over regulation, is quite large.

The reason so many (IMHO) supported Obama was that he touted “Change.” People are tired of being oppressed, in many forms. However, once certain people make enough money, they lobby, bribe, and blackmail politicians into making laws that insure that only they can continue to do so. That is the very problem in this country, the corporate no accountability interests. People generally don’t have a problem with the rich, they have a problem when they cannot get rich, too.

Once upon a time, people could make money from home, heck you could bake pies and sell them. Not now, you cannot even sell milk to a neighbor, unless proccessed at an approved facility, and with approved licenses. Politicians (in general) are merely puppets. Obama being puppet to Soros certainly is not the exception to the rule, but an example of the rule itself. As soon as people understand and fix THIS problem, then they’ll understand why America is so divided. When a child cannot have a lemonade stand without paying hundreds of dollars in licensing fees, we have a problem.
