The Ismailis, who now compromise MOST of the medical personnel in Pakistan ~ started out as the ASSASSIN cult.

They're part of the Sevener Movement (focus on the 7th Imam returning as the Mahdi).

For the most part they are extremely pacifistic the last few centuries ~ in some places they are persecuted as not being sufficiently Islamic.

You could have worse friends easily.

I am not worried about that one bit. Just because Gov. Perry has some Muslim friends means he’s an Islamic sympathizer, supports Sharia Law and wants to Islamicize America? I think not.

Not all Muslims are evil and the hatred for Muslims has to stop, and this is coming from a Christian. It is not helping our cause.

Perry is a Methodist (as was GWB) and the Methodists are among the most liberal protestant denominations -

which is why I am currently churchless

Gov. Perry should have the Islamic vote sewed up in the primaries, as long Gov. Christie stays out of the race.

Hunstman, Perry, Romney, Gingrich, Paul...too liberal.

Palin, Bachmann, Cain, Santorum, too conservative or not enough experience.

Gee, I guess we just better hunker down for 4 more years, huh?

If we continue to tout our own candidates’ negatives like this, that is exactly what will happen.

Perry even laid the first brick at the groundbreaking ceremony

So this fantastically super-duper super Christian is willing to materially aid and abet a religion that specifically denies Jesus is the Son of the Living God. Having severe cognitive dissonance here ... have to walk away from this one till the noise in my head stops. Sounds just like a warning siren .....

I would think a governor should maintain friendly relations with the citizens of his state. Islam and Communism lead the destructive forces on Earth, but there are commies and Muslims who behave in society, and some who don’t. I am more concerned about what Perry or any candidate understands about Islam. If they think it is a religion of peace, they need to expel the brain farts clogging up their heads.

I am not sold on Perry.

many people in here whine about how Americans knew about Obama and voted for him anyway.

I am not voting for someone I do not have confidence in and Perry’s record doesn’t appear to be as shiny as some wnat to make it out.

Right now I am still holding out for Sarah Palin.

We’ve had three presidents in a row kissing Muzzie butt, each one more than the last. I guess it’s a trend.

I’ve had enough of Muslim lovin’and appeasin’ presidents.

“The first agreement in 2008 was a “wide-ranging” program designed to indoctrinate Texas children about Islam and Islamic culture. According to Salon.com, “Perry brokered a partnership between the University of Texas and Al-Husayni’s Aga Khan University in Pakistan for the purpose of expanding cooperation on programs including the Muslim Histories and Culture Project,” or MHCP. The purpose of the MHCP is to train high-school teachers on the positive aspects of Muslim history and culture.

Perry’s naive support for this program is disturbing, to say the least. At the signing ceremony, Perry stated, “I have supported this program from the very beginning, because we must bridge the gap of understanding between East and West if we ever hope to experience a future of peace and prosperity.”

In conjunction with the signing, Perry even requested the Texas A&M Aggie Corps of Cadets Ross Volunteer Company to do a sabre arch salute as part of a special ceremony for Al-Husayni arrival at the ceremony.

The glaring problem of course with this sentiment is that “bridges” normally go two ways. While Perry is expanding programs to teach American children about Islam, what is Al-Husayni doing about teaching Pakistani children about the glories of Christianity? Why is it that whenever these fabulously wealthy Muslim “philanthropists” ride into town to build bridges of understanding, it is always one-sided, always extolling the beauties of Islam?”
