Concentrating on the orientation of the victimizer and the victim, although enlightening and useful, will not lead to recognizing the mental illness driving the behavior.

Once recognized, then what, a deeper understanding? I’ve argued that acceptance of the homosexual agenda would only encourage social and political action to accept every type of sexual perversion, pedophilia being the logical next step. If we allow our culture to be destroyed, no amount of psychological understanding of various sexual perversions will do anything to stop the problem. I sympathize with your desire to fight pedophilia. If you deny the obvious connections between homosexuality and pedophilia, and the obvious mistake of ignoring the role the homosexual agenda plays in advancing more cultural acceptance of sexual perversion, your fight is lost.
the whole concept of pedophilia being deviant and damaging behavior is currently mostly an american idea. Most of the world does not think there is anything wrong with such behavior. Just as most of the world does not believe there is anything wrong with multiple wives, slavery, prostitution, concubines, mistresses, extortion, blood feuds, nepotism, tyranny, dictatorships, fascism, communism, wife beating, rape, torture, etc.
This is not an American construct. And it's not an idea. It's real and devastating to the children.

mamelukesabre is correct, CURRENTLY America believes pedophilia is deviant, but much of the rest of the "civilized" world doesn't seem to care.
What matters most is whether or not Americans stays true to our traditional values, because, as Ronald Reagan pointed out:
"We are indeed, and we are today, the last best hope of man on earth."
