It is quite obvious that Ernie is constantly subjected to mental cruelty by Bert. That's the very thing that gets a lot of homo relationships going, usually the bullyee at the behest of the bullyer. Might as well have the Count do the honors, he's creepy enough already.

You shouldn’t call the Count creepy. He obviously has OCD, which is an illness, and appropriate accommodations should be made for that. :)
