Rep. Grimm Gives GOP Weekly: Obama Needs To "Wake Up To Reality"
Real Clear Politics ^ | Aug. 6, 2011 | U.S. Rep. Michael Grimm (R-N.Y.)

Posted on 08/06/2011 11:48:28 AM PDT by La Enchiladita

"Hello, I’m Congressman Michael Grimm from the great state of New York, proudly representing Staten Island and parts of Brooklyn.

After serving my country in combat with the United States Marine Corps and deep undercover with the FBI, I decided to go out on my own and start a small business. I’ve seen firsthand how politicians and bureaucrats can make it harder to meet a payroll and create jobs.

The latest jobs report shows that President Obama’s ‘stimulus’-driven policies are simply not working.

The overspending, overtaxing, and over-regulating coming out of Washington is creating uncertainty and holding our job creators back. Every day, I hear the frustration in the voices of my neighbors and constituents who ask ‘where are the jobs?’ and this reminds me, this is not the country we grew up in. The good news is that we can, and will, get it back. if we change course.

The Budget Control Act signed into law this week takes a step in the right direction.

I voted for this legislation, but I have to be quite honest in telling you that it’s far from perfect. The cuts and reforms do not go nearly far enough. But it’s a reasonable and responsible approach which includes spending cuts larger than the debt limit hike; common sense caps on future government spending; and no tax increases. It puts us on a track to fix our fiscal problems, which will provide more confidence for employers in America, the very people we expect to reinvest in our economy and create jobs.

...There’s no better way to provide certainty to the private sector and control spending over the long haul than through a Balanced Budget Amendment.

If Obama was to announce right now that he wasn’t going to seek re-election, the economy would begin healing immediately. We’re in the doldrums as long as he’s president.

I agree. I also believe that most are scared to death of what will happen if Barry is reelected and becomes a lame duck president. All hell will break loose once he doesn’t have to do fundraisers anymore. The communist agenda will kick in and override his need for votes.

“If Obama was to announce right now that he wasn’t going to seek re-election, the economy would begin healing immediately. We’re in the doldrums as long as he’s president.”

Your statement presupposes that Obama feels badly about the economy. Obama worked for Saul Alinsky who intended to destroy the economy as a means of remaking America into Amerika. I think Obama is doing exactly what he intends to the economy; bankrupting America to create a fair, level playing field for the poor and the world. Because, in Obama’s mind, America and capitalism are what is wrong with the world. I think Obama’s vision is of the world pictured in the novel “Fahrenheit 451.” Monorails delivered everybody to their picture perfect 500 square foot apartments which were grouped in immaculately landscaped plots all surrounded with public “art.”

No, it’s not just 0 and the demwits, it is also the blue blood, elite rino r’s too. They and their over spending under GW started a lot of this mess, gaining control went to their heads.

Read the first paragraph’s of the Pig Book for 2010 it explains how the debt PORK explosion took off big time, under the power drunken r’s.

And lets not forget the 45 + years of quid pro quo donor palm greasing both parties are guilty of that have driven up the cost to entitlements...and the worthless IOU’s they left in the SS fund, they had no intention of replacing.

And NO just cutting a few bucks won’t fix problems, you have to get at the root cause......donor palm greasing, and bringing home the bacon. Funded and unfunded Mandates from the feds to the states.

I may not be the brightest bulb in the pack, but I’m smarter than what we have in congress and WH now.

Any congress critter who fails to keep faith with the Military, will NOT keep faith with YOU!

Are you saying we should hold our noses and vote for the likes of RINO Romney who is 0 light?

Who is only the lesser of 2 evils by half of what 0 is?

And if you don’t bounce the RINOs from congress you won’t improve things either. Sen Bob Corker (TN) is in my book as get the H out of Dodge in ‘12.

Grimm chose to VOTE for a bill,

that RAISES the national debt by 9 TRILLION dollars over the next 10 years.

that hands Obama another 2.4 trillion to spend this term.

that lets congress “DEEM” the 2012 and 2013 budgets “passed”.

that has BUILT IN spending increases, while boasting about cutting the INCREASE by less than 10%.

that frees Obama from the pressure, and puts our MILITARY under pressure, with the threat of a 500 BILLION cut

that hands Obama another 10 billion Pell grant increase,
simply as a birthday present,
when 14 million Americans are out of work and 46 million on food stamps.

he sold out the future of our children, instead of holding the line.

Grimm says the most important thing is a BBA ?!?
the debt ceiling WAS a “balanced budget amendment” !!!
GRIMM VOTED TO BREAK IT.

even a 4 trillion “cut” in the 10 trillion INCREASE,
might have avoided the credit downgrade.

S&P and Moody’s said that BEFORE The vote.

even holding out for that much, would have saved our children BILLIONS in increased interest costs,
instead of moving us closer to the death spiral,
of Greece, Portugal, and Italy.

Mark Levine, Rush, and Jim Robinson, KNOW the democrats,
and understand politics and economics. and they warned us!

Bachman, DeMint, and many other TRUE CONSERVATIVES,
had the courage to do what was BEST FOR AMERICA.
Grimm and West didn’t.

Nope. It will be a cold day in hell before I vote for Romney. I’m just attacking the state run, liberal “media’s” hypocrisy. They never attack their side. They only attack to the right. I get sick of it.

Statement: "Rep. Grimm Gives GOP Weekly: Obama Needs To "Wake Up To Reality"

Response: His reality is taxpayer provided golf, barbeque, rap music and a government check. All of which compose the reality he has and will live his entire life.

Get over it. It’s not as though the debt ceiling has never been raised before.

Get your TRUE CONSERVATIVES busy seriously cutting SPENDING. What have THEY (Bachmann, De Mint, et al) done lately, or ..... ever??

I hear DeMint is promoting another book.

The danger isn’t so much OBAMA, as an electorate so dumbed down, so gullible to simple propaganda, that would elect someone like Obama.

Absolutely.

I know people like this. They are oblivious to the big picture and will vote for Obama come what may. They are idiotic, arrogant and smug in their disdain for the Tea Party, Fox News, and conservatism in general, and will mindlessly follow Obama over the cliff.

One person I know who owns a business imagines that Obamacare will provide her with high quality, free healthcare and she will thus be able to keep more of her own cash.

Me too. There will be NO vote for the lesser of 2 evils this time around. Not even at the state level.

I want Corker GONE too. Alexander isn’t up until ‘14 and he will be over 70, well past time to retire on all those gov’t pensions he collects.
