In a speech delivered just earlier today President Obama warned that without serious compromise by both Democrats and Republicans, the U.S. will lose its top-credit rating it if falls into a credit default. It was the second debt-crisis related speech that Obama has delivered today, and comes the day after the House GOP failed to pass a balanced budget bill because of lack of support from representatives viewed as sympathetic to the Tea Party movement.
The president pointed out that the possibility of a downgrade are not great developments for either party, though some are suggesting that even if a temporary or long-term bill gets passed, the credit rating could still be downgraded.

We needed more cowbell!
It happened on his watch. Not Bush’s. He’ll go down in history as the first president to have ruined our credit rating. More Americans have a better credit rating than the government.
That’s right. STFU Odumbo!
I personally am glad that S&P nailed our rating. I hope others follow. The only way to get the USA headed back on the right CAPITALIST course, is to hit the electorate hard. The half that are so stupid and selfish that they would vote for Obama are going to get a real taste of what this guy stands for and what his agenda really means.
Let the credit ratings fall. Then let’s watch Nerkle dance!
What is so terrible about the US having its credit rating downgraded? Obama and his commie Democrats don’t think there is anything wrong with forcing banks to give mortgages to people with little or bad credit ratings.
LIEberals are such masters of disasters....
Obama is the President and leader of his party. Instead, he tried to act like a bystander. The Dem Senate produced no budget nor a debt reduction plan. Nor did the President. How can you compromise with someone who puts forth no proposal?
