Bloomberg and Soros Commit $60-Million to Program for Minority Youths (brainwashing new robots)
Journal of Philanthropy ^ | 8/4/11

Posted on 08/05/2011 2:49:51 AM PDT by markomalley

New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and the hedge-fund tycoon George Soros have pledged $30-million each for a far-reaching new effort to improve educational and economic prospects for the city’s young black and Latino men, writes The New York Times.

The gifts from the two billionaire philanthropists will be part of a three-year, nearly $130-million City Hall-run program, which the mayor is to formally announce Thursday.

City officials say black and Latino men aged 16 to 24 are in crisis by nearly every socioeconomic measure, including arrest rates, school suspensions, and poverty.

The program, to start this fall, will significantly expand efforts to train them and place them in jobs, track their academic progress, reduce repeat imprisonments, and improve child-rearing skills.

Mr. Bloomberg asked Mr. Soros to match his donation at a lunch a few weeks ago.

“When the mayor approached us, he was knocking on an open door,” said Mr. Soros, who has contributed millions of dollars to programs to help black men in other cities.

The billionaire philanthropists ranked at the top of The Chronicles annual list of the 50 most generous Americans. Mr. Soros was No. 1 and Mr. Bloomberg was No. 2.

See the NY Slimes' article on this: Bloomberg to Use Own Funds in Plan to Aid Minority Youth. Highlights:

In interviews, aides to the mayor said the new measures emphasized the practical needs of the city’s most impoverished black and Latino men, many of whom are unable or unwilling to enroll in time-consuming education and training programs unless they are compensated, according to the officials. …

To provide role models for the men on probation, the city said it would recruit from those neighborhoods 900 paid mentors, many of whom used to be troubled themselves, and promote a range of community service programs, like cleaning parks, removing graffiti and painting community centers, said Vincent N. Schiraldi, the city’s probation commissioner…

The city would also encourage men to obtain driver’s licenses or state identification cards…

A few weeks ago, Mr. Bloomberg called Mr. Soros, who has spent millions of dollars on programs to help black men in Baltimore and other cities, and invited him to lunch.…

Translation: state-funded make-work jobs; government-provided fathers; and create an army of poor, easy to manipulate men inside the inner cities to be good drones for the State.

Not to worry, $60m is barely enough to cover the graft.

Sounds like it has to do with recruiting votes for 2012. Nothing is what it seems with this group.

Maybe Van Jones will run the program.

“The gifts from the two billionaire philanthropists...”

As if that’s all they are, especially Soros.

I kinda agree. $10m will go for salaries of the guys who run the program. Another $5m will go to the rent & operational costs. Toss in various folks taking their cut and this will last maybe five months max.

“Bloomberg and Soros”

Anti-American, anti-”white” POSes; is there anything less American than NYC.

Racists stoking a backlash...welcome to the world of “Blacks & Latinos Only”.

sometimes I entertain myself by trying to imagine what these guys would do if the ATM flashed the “insufficient funds to complete this transaction” message when they went to get some spending money.

A hundred and thirty million dollars would take a long time to burn but the end result would be the same.

Bloomberg and Soros apparently have not stopped to understand the psyche of those they profess to want to save.

They don’t want education, the don’t want work, and this has become generational, where work ethic has been traded for “what can I wring or scam out of the government (other taxpayers)?”

These idiots have money to burn but they will learn what a folly this will be...

If they are doing this; they aren’t using their own money.

Philanthropy my foot. The money will never reach any deserving young men in any numbers that MATTER. In 60 years of "philanthropy" our cities, home of most minorities, are the same as they ever were....maybe worse.

It is all a political ploy. And I suspect it's all about more power and pocket lining for certain players.

So were Latina women when I was single. Intervention and 2 kids later, outlook is favorable.

I can't imagine these two old nazis want the same results.

Good company you’re keeping Mike - cozying up to Mohammedans who want to build a hate center near Ground Zero and a Nazi-collaborating banking terrorist.

Beat me to it. I was thinking the exact same thing. Even the minute amount that won't make it into someones freezer will only be used for appearances. We should encourage Soros and Bloomberg to spend all their fortunes on these type of programs.

Hey 'City Officials', you have something out of order, like: arrest rates, school suspensions, and poverty,

It should be: school suspensions, then arrest rates, and finally poverty. Now I'm no 'city official' but I kinda see a linkage there.

As in: If they had respect for others, they'd LISTEN to the teachers and LEARN something. Then they could graduate and find a job and wouldn't be arrested for committing crimes of all sorts. And then - viola -- they wouldn't live in poverty when they get OUT OF JAIL and have to commit MORE CRIMES to fund their continuing spiral of destruction.

ps: No charge for the advice.

Wait, my bad, Bloomie & Soros are involved. So the consulting fee will be $5 Million Dollars (US) in GOLD. Send Armored truck to me. Time and Address to follow.

Thank you, call me any time.

yes, that's $1 Million a minute.
You gotta problem with that! Hope not or I have ta call Vinnie.

“...create an army of poor, easy to manipulate men ...”

This is the pissed-off, hate-Whitey, chip-on-the-shoulder guerilla cadre for FuBO’s civilian security force, “as well-funded (Soros and Bloomberg) and well-armed (Project Gunwalker) as the military.”

Well...almost as well-armed, anyway.

So it would seem...
