You know that friend of yours who’s always the first to get in on the hottest social media trends? The one who had a Tumblr before everyone? The one who first sent you a Google+ invite? Well, remember that one time that your hip friend made a big misstep? Like he joined some online service which lets you tag people in your dream journal or “like” porn videos and he swore that it was gonna be the next big thing even though it clearly wasn’t? Yeah well, today, President Obama’s campaign staff is kind of like that as they’ve initiated a day-long project to tweet out the Twitter names of every Republican Congressmen state by state…in individual tweets.

Great idea to help people contact their representation, right? The 10,000 people who have unfollowed Obama in the past few hours seem to disagree.

It all started this morning when the campaign, previously lauded for its tech savvy these two tweets:

Soon the deluge started as the official Twitter account began to go through each state, listing the names of every Republican representative that has an account themselves. Anyone following the President soon found their Twitter feed filling up with messages that basically had, at best, a one in 50 chance of being relevant to them in anyway.

Hey, remember that funny Onion story about Obama sending the entire country a “rambling 75,000-word e-mail” that the Fox Nation reported as true? Well, this is as close as we’re gonna get to it actually coming true.

This should be sent to all Democrats in one’s contact list. Many of them hate spam and spammers with a religious passion.

Just keep adding bricks onto their load...

haha, this is a funny story. JUMPED THE SHARK. It was even a news item on the generic traffic on the 8s news radio report after midnight tonight.

Those who un-followed the Won should watch out.
How dare these twits embarrass the boy king like this.
His PRavda staff is taking names over at fishy.gov
and trading them like baseball cards.

Maybe those on the fishy twit list will all get audited
by the many new OBCares/IRS agents and/or be the first
ones to loose their gravy when this bullet train runs
over the default cliff. Oh, that just might fix the
deficit for 30 minutes and give Obozo enough savings
to brag about in another ranting speech. Or maybe the
Media whor3s will give each fishy twit a Joe-the-plumber
deep dive and make a ‘reality show’ about their disloyalty
to the white-throne. “Off with their Internet!” orders
the Won to his FCC Czar in the show’s opening credits.
The prime time show might be called “Citizens with no
bytes”. “Who will loose their Net tonight? Could it be
you?! Stay tuned to find out!”

</half-sarcasm>

Perhaps the shine is finally wearing off this doorknob.

Just imagine if he did this with that new direct, unblockable emergency text message system they're testing in NY. He could claim "default" is a national emergency and demand people contact congress.

36K out of 9M doesn't seem a lot but that's almost a full half percent. That's economic growth type numbers. (sadly not so /s)

Although I do have a twitter account which throws out links to what I do automatically I do not use it or understand it .

Is it possible to turn anything Obama tweets into Spam by repeating what went on today?
If so it might be a good practice
