“The caucus, Boehner says, has been infiltrated by a cabal that hopes to take the US economy hostage in order to force political concessions from President Obama and Congressional Democrats.”

And.................this is a bad thing?

Doing nothing is better than 2.5 trillion more debt.

Common sense has infiltrated the GOP. Nothing else. Boehner needs to go as speaker.

Its harder and harder not to question what Boehner's true intentions are.

Rolling the budget baseline back to 2008 is not a hard argument to make, unless you just don't want to.

I can’t wait to see how many on this thread fall for the salacious headline from THE “LEFT-OF-MARX” NATION rag vs. what Boehner’s actual quote was.

Look how they even twist Laura’s words! Fascinating Goebbels is still alive.

Full court press against the Tea party. Includes political Washington type elites like Laura Ingraham, Charles Krauthammer, Bill Kristol, etc. More of the same from the same.

lawless colleagues

Lawless? How so? They are duely elected and they know why they were elected and they are sticking to principle! And by the way, if we don't raise the debt ceiling, we need not default - if we do it will be by the President's choice!

“the deal that President Obama has offered”

Who wrote this stupid article? Obama has not offered any deal other than raising taxes.

The CCB bill was sent to the house 1 week ago. Bring it to the Senate floor for a vote.

Media and the Democratic propagandists are going to spin this into a crap sandwich that Republicans insist we taxpayers eat.

No thanks.

But Boehner’s not concerned about the fact that his lawless colleagues would threaten the good faith and credit of the United States

So continuing on this unrecoverable path of obscene debt with continuous spending is not going to threaten the good faith and credit of the US???

It was said here in Free Republic long ago that Republicans would fold up like a heap suit.

Boehner has folded his suit and is now in his underwear bending over for the ram.

The Speaker’s only concern is that a wrong move might make it harder for him to maneuver politically.

The only direction he ever maneuvers is LEFT.

I agree with the assessment that this is Kabuki theater. They have a deal, it will get done, even if it’s McConnell’s plan.

Why do I say that?

CONgress won’t kill the goose that laid the golden egg. Apparently we have a few members of the House that are rabble. They actually want to do the right thing. Silly newbies.

One doesn’t spend millions, and in many cases, quit a job making mid 6 figures, to take a job that pays about $150k, unless there’s more to it. The “more to it” is that no one leaves CONgress poor.
