House GOP Delays Vote Boehner's Debt Limit Bill (Is the Fix In?)
Fox News ^ | 07/28/2011

House Republican leaders delayed a final vote on Speaker John Boehner's deficit-reduction bill Thursday evening as Democrats warned the speaker that he was wasting his time.

It's not clear what led to the abrupt delay but Republican leaders said there will still be a vote on the controversial plan Thursday night.

(snip)

However, the Senate is expected to act on the Boehner bill should it pass. Democratic aides told Fox News that Boehner's bill is actually the best vehicle for getting a debt-cap bill to the president's desk provided changes are made to it on the Senate side -- Reid could prime the bill for those changes Thursday night.

I've heard Mark Levin speculate in the past hour that what's occurring publicly could be different from what's occurring privately. In other words, a deal is already in the works. This is the first major media site I've read indicating such an arrangement may already exist.

Personally, the “fix” has always been in. They win, we lose.

I’d almost go as far as to say that both Reid and BeohnerIdiot have long been working towards the “fix” behind close doors.

Again, personally, the sooner this country goes bankrupt, the better off we will be. =.=

I pity the foolish freshmen who have stuck their neck out on this sham bill. (Actually I don’t pity them and will hoping for primary challengers for them and there will be.)

Bonehead and the DC Class has already turned about half of them.
They should be proud. They are now officially part of the DC Class.
Beholden to Bonehead, not to the folks who sent them to congress.

It only took 8 months to turn them. And as Levin has proposed.
This vehicle will be the vehicle that Reid uses to ammend and and back to the house for another vote.

And since most of them have already will have crossed over to the DC Hacks, the second vote will be easier for them to make. Innocence lost and more than likley their seats

We, each of us that works owes 92,000 dollars.

Without any increase.

Then add our annual tax obligations.

If they raise the ceiling in any way shape or form, we must revolt.

The vote was delayed because Boehner has only 216 votes. He needs 218. He is calling the holdouts into his office one at a time. They’re trying to convince the holdouts to abstain rather than vote no which lets them stand on principle but pass the bill and get it to the Senate.

I agree. If your freshman Representative votes for this monstrosity and you do not challenge him at his next town hall and find him some primary opposition, his journey to the dark side will be complete.

The political elite is set for life as long as the government is open. That’s why they’ll postpone default as long as they can.

The freshmen who are replaced next year will be replaced by someone just like them. We’ve allowed the “representatives” to think of themselves first for way too long.

Does anyone stop to think how insane this is? The existing bills cannot pass so there is some magic evil back room deal sitting out there waiting to be passed?

Do you realize how insane your post is? You are pissed at the Tea Party freshmen, THE ONLY ONES HOLDING THE LINE!

How about JUST ONCE, you focus your angst on the people who are blocking EVERYTHING you claim to stand for. The Senate Democrats and President 0.

"Democrats warned the speaker that he was wasting his time"

Sounds like Mob Rule, Chicago-style politics, and Union motus operandi.

How does the opposite party "threaten" the Majority? Shove cap, tax, and balance up their asses, and to hell with it....let Obama veto his ass off, and then go into 2012 having put the country into default by running up the debt to all-time record highs after Democrats shoved all their payoff-socialist agenda through when they were the Majority.

No. I am not pissed at the Freshmen holding the line.
It is the Freshmen(about 25) who have not held the line.
Simple math. @57 New Freshmen. @25 No’s. The difference are the ones that are not holding the line.

Feel better.

FIX IS IN, both parties are fixing to hose us by giving 0 a blank check for a few phony cuts, no fixes, no reform.

When congress and the Pres and VP are placed under Medicare and take a 20% pay cut, limit ALL vactions the Pres and congress take on our dime. Oh, by the way, I don’t think we should pay for his and Mooche’s clothes or jewelery either. I might begin to believe that they are serious. I have yet to hear even bonehead use the word REFORM. There are 45+ years of quid pro quo donor palm greasing built into every social program. Until you eliminate them you will not cut the spiraling debt, that and making it so ONLY US Citizens qualify for any program, including education...take that you idiot jerry brown your matching fed $ should be cut off.

UNLESS reform is part of the package, all you are doing is getting HOSED.

Spare us your sanctamony.

Just cut a check to cover the 1.6 trillion deficit in next year’s budget and be done with it.

You will notice NOT ONE of them has agreed to place themselves under Medicare, or cut their excessive salaries, travel etc. And we are still paying for 0’s monthly family expensive vacation and ugly clothes.

Ah, you accused me of the Freshmen not holding the line and I responded. And now I see, that u used that as an excuse to trash me. When if fact, I said no such thing about the FRESHMEN holding the line. And u know it You lie like Bonehead and Cantor.

I remember u. U were the one among a few others here that kept propping up the Bush, Rove, and the GOP policies, that many of us here warned you about. We warned u about party over principal then. Bush, Rove and The Establishment GOP policies is the REASON we have ZERO now. We warned you about the out of control spending then and we are still warning you about the out of control spending now. We have tried it your way for decades. We told u it wasn’t working then and it ain’t working now.
It is those like you who made excuses for the GOP when they had all three branches of Govt and spent like drunken sailors. We warned you then and we are warning you now. Yeah, I remember u.
BTW, spread your continued Party over Principal somewhere else.

H..l, they are already taking an additional $525 in taxes per year out of hubby,s Navy pension..and he is 71. We have seen no COLA’s in either SS or Navy pension in 2 years, and won’t see one next year. And local gov’t is rattling the higher property tax chain....for the children’s education, although enrollment is down by over 2,000 kids, who moved out of the city of Memphisfornia.
