Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus repeated his partys commitment to stronger voter identification laws, saying that the GOP would not give up the fight against voter fraud.
I think that we need to make it easy to vote, hard to cheat, and I think that thats a mantra that we ought to shout from the rooftops all over the country as a Party, ...
Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) Chairman David Norcross said that voter fraud issues were very real, despite complaints from liberals that it is largely a phantom problem. Cross cited several cases where states had found thousands of ineligible votes after elections were already over.
Voter fraud is real, this is not anybodys imagination, Norcross said. The Milwaukee police department reported some detailed fraud in the 2004 presidential election in Wisconsin. The Colorado Secretary of State found last year that 5,000 non-citizens voted in their Senate race, which was decided by a close margin. And probably all will remember Minnesota in 2008 when more ineligible voters were identified than the margin between the winning and losing Senate candidates.

most Americans support voter I.D. A June 2011 Rasmussen Poll had 75 percent of Americans believing voters should be required to show photo ID. This breaks down into 85 percent of Republicans , 77 percent of Independents, and 63 percent of Democrats.

Secretary of state elections matter.
it’s very real. even the tiny evidence, shows it is significant.
but, i don’t think the voter ID laws will stop much.
illegals often have multiple IDs that would pass easily.
besides, i think 90% of voter fraud is done by absentee ballots.
Good move, and at least a decade overdue. This is another area where Bush really dropped the ball. Let’s hope we see some national follow-through. My state is ahead of the curve on this. With the preponderance of Republican-controlled state legislatures, we ought to be able to push this along and really limit cheating on elections.
Fraud is very real. In 1960 JFK won by 110,000 votes, most stolen in Illinois and Texas, which gave him an electoral majority.
Recently historians have gone back and looked at the 1960 election...showing Nixon probably had 250,000 more REAL votes than Kennedy and a narrow victory in the electoral college.
This has been going on for a hundred years...with Dems stealing votes in ghettos and on Indian reservations. Problemm is...most Republicans are too decent to steal back.
Some liberals say that there are lots of old people who don’t have ID. And they say in the south, there are old black people without ID. They say it’s too difficult to expect old people to get an ID. They say it costs money to get an ID.
The liberals also say the Supreme Court was wrong when it upheld the Indiana voter ID law. Upholding the concept of voter ID in the Supreme Court helped lead to many states now passing such laws.
Liberals worship the wisdom of our courts when they render liberal decisions. But in a case where the courts rule for the “conservative” side of an issue, suddenly the courts are bought and paid for by unknown forces seeking to undermine democracy.
Absentee ballots for military only.
All you have to do is look at Nevada’s senatorial result to see voter fraud is real and prevalent.
Well I'm too harsh; but people should be shot for deliberately committing voter fraud.
GWB and his merry band of RINOs did not do one thing to help the Republican party. When the GOP controlled the three branches of government, they could of fixed this problem. He was a very big disappointment in this regard.
Dough boy Karl Rove was the worst advisor ever. I pay no attention to what this goofball says.
no voter fraud = no Senator Franken....
I hear that allegation frequently, but nobody ever explains why. You can't get an absentee ballot unless you are registered.
If you require sufficient ID for registration, absentee ballots should not be a problem.
A small tweek of the system would be that before someone could vote in any election, they must show a document(tax return?) which shows that some positive taxes have been paid into the system.
We cannot survive as a free society where people on the dole are calling the shots. They will vote every time for the politician who promises them the most "stuff".
“Absentee ballots for military only.”
And, assurance that they get counted.
Are you saying that:
- Absentee ballots are for military only, or
- Absentee ballots should be for military only?
